Kydex-GT Reforged

Description
A version of the jrandall Kydex-GT with some re-tooling for Reforged Eden. See the original here:

I'm not the first to rework this for Reforged Eden - good intermediate ship that was already close to PE compliant.

Non-cosmetic changes:

- Swapped two cannons for drills
- Replaced port side storage with harvest controller
- Swapped the Offline Protection for a Deconstructor
- Added two generators
- Added a detector
- Added an additional basic CPU extender block
- Removed two small constructors
- Relocated the repair bay two blocks closer to the stern

Most other changes were just to maximize hangar space.

CPU at 1.34 of 1.4M. If you want to add/upgrade hardware, room to add two improved extenders (one on each side of the boarding ramp) and one advanced extender (I relocated the Repair Station). These three additional extenders get you to 2.1M CPU.

Have to admit to skipping over this one in my current progression and going straight to my Reforged version of XCaliber's Kydex MkII. I agree, speed was the biggest reason, that, hanger size and firepower :) Still, you have to like jrandall's style!

I am currently using my modded version of this great build by jrandall in my reforged game. (the original was made for vanilla) It took LOTS of work to make it usable in reforged. So I thought I'd take a look @ your mod. My main complaint is that it's slow. I wouldn't go near a 3G planet or you'll be stranded. I changed the whole ship to standard steel to reduce weight (kept combat steel in front of the warp drive) & added more up facing thrusters to help maneuverability in space. I've used it on 2G planets but, fully loaded it's slow to climb out. (about 30ms as max is 60ms)

Good point Kula808, this one is at 1.4M CPU as it sits. To get to maximum, you need to add two improved extenders (either side of boarding ramp) and one advanced extender (I relocated the Repair Station). I'll update the description. Thanks!

Nice! I love this CV btw :). Wierd thing though with the O2, I fixed it in creative by blocking the deconstructor but in my coop game the leak was over by the shield generator. I found that very strange but whatever. I just turned the pentaxid tank 90 degrees, removed the two curved blocks, and covered the area with glass blocks and viola O2 leak fixed.

Looks like we're in the same build. Co-op differences? I'm wondering if the engine behind the shield shows as airtight in your game? (check properties with your drone) Air and fuel tanks aren't airtight and the hangar is lined with tanks. Also a tank behind the deconstructor. Finding an air leak is painful process of replacing leaky components with blocks or sectioning off areas until you isolate the leak - sorry I can't be more help.
