The Smallest are the Deadliest
Zombie mosquitoes are rumored to be spreading the infection. Desperate for a cure, your survivor team hatches a plan to bomb the lagoon where the infection came from.

I made the attempt back in 2021 and my limited understanding of proper navmesh construction didn't do the map justice. While I was able to paint a functional path for the AI to follow, I struggled with the fine tuning, such as designating certain areas as unfavorable for traversal, i.e. the slowing waters - my bots just really liked to get their feet wet, haha.

That would be interesting! It would likely require a bit of custom script but you already have a functioning hybrid objective and that awesome sequence with the button that opens the "onslaught door." So I'm sure if there's anyone that could crack that puzzle, it would be you.

Anyway, sorry for blabbering. Thank you for all of the care and detail you put into your maps. You have a forever fan in me and I will pray for blessings in your life and prosperity for all of your endeavors!

Thank you, that’s very nice of you to say. Hypothetically, it sounds plausible to get bots playing essentially an Attack Defend gamemode. The main issues probably lie on Infected/BLU unable to use the Infected ramps (and launchpads in newer maps) as well as recognizing transient doors opening after captures. I know the latter can be done with nav entities, but I don’t know about the former.

I think a PvE mode using Mann Vs Machine as a base could be interesting, 6 survivors capturing points through a challenging map against melee zombie bots. It would take work and experimentation, but the potential’s there, and I do know some MvM maps attempted role reversal.

This is, and will always be, one of my favorite maps!

I like it so much that this map inspired me to take the time to learn how to create a basic navmesh in TF2, just so I could play it with bots. Unfortunately, TF2's default bots kinda break when the objective changes.
