That makes total sense, Storm. If I had any modding skill I bet it it extremely easy, like adding a word or two in the code line for Where Seaside Resorts Can Be Placed.

can you make a mod where only ski resort can be placed on tundra mountains?

Is it possible to allow them to be built on a Lakeside too? I mean I know it's called seaside, but it should be both, or there should be lakeside version. :/ I keep planning resorts and national parks and then it all crashes cuz I can't build the resort. I can on some lakes, but not others. I love the "Lakes" map the most, so no big seas. but the bigger lakes count as seas. sigh...

@weregamer looking at the screenshots I was totally thinking about a bunch of places from Haystack Rock to Mendocino.

There are other reasons than a beach to go to a seaside resort. In the US Pacific Northwest the water and air temperature are usually too cold for swimming or sunbathing, and resorts on hills with sea views and beautiful sunsets to add to less site-specific luxuries like spas or gourmet restaurants do quite well.

It's not unthinkable that you can build a seaside resort in an area with hills since it could still have a beach. No idea why they restricted it to flat land. Because it looks better?

Yeah, I understand. I'm sure we'll see some mods pop up for it soon anyway.

I haven't checked the new content yet. Probably some other modders would be faster than me in this. My free time is quite unpredictable due to my job.

I know Pirates just came out so I'm not requesting for anything to be made on the spot, but when you have the time, is it possible to make a mod that puts some of its content in the base game (like treasure chests, buccaneers replacing barbarians, or the unique units... at least I think there are unique units)?
