Description
The Riðill-class Tackler Frigate is a warship by Valkyrja - Maintenance & Engineering, designed for close-range ship-to-ship-combat. Outfitted with a mixed layout of 25mm Gatling Turrets and 200mm Rocket Lanucher Turrets, as well as multiple small caliber Point Defense Cannons, this frigate can be deployed for a large variaty of tasks.

This ship was heavily inspired by "The Expanse" novels and tv-series and comes with many design-elements from this fandom. This includes an interior that is aligned perpendicular to the main source of thrust and the Thruster-layout leans heavily towards a 'flip-and-burn'-style of piloting.

This item is survival-ready! It is fully conveyor-linked, thruster-damage compatible and uses no mods and no subgrids! And - as promised in my last warship-build - does not utilize any DLC-blocks, neither functional, nor cosmetic.

Description
Outfitted with a mixed array of defensive and offensive capabilities, the primary design philosophy behind the RIDILL-class was a ship with the ability to 'tackle' incomming enemy warships and bind them in close-quarter-battle. While V.M.E ships like the ANGURVADAL-class Destroyer provide a lot of speed and offensive firepower, the RIDILL focuses more on protection and durability.

With a dry mass of 4,700 metric tons, the RIDILL is the heaviest frigate deployed by V.M.E so far. The hull is based on the same frame as the ANGURVADAL, but was significantly beefed up and stretched to provide additional protection and eradicate known weakpoints of the lighter Destroyer-design. Redundancy is another key-element. Vital components like batteries, reactors, generators and fuel tanks are spreaded throughout the ship, making it harder to cut off power or fuel supply from specific areas of the vessel.

The Main Hydrogen-Ion Propulsion Drive is capable to provide up to 62.68 MN of thrust, giving the RIDILL a decent amount of acceleration. Various auxillary thrusters, which are spreaded around the hull, ensure lasting maneuverability, even when the ship has taken significant damage in combat.
Protection is provided by a heavy armored bulkhead which incases the main weapon-battery, as well as several strategically placed decoys to direct incoming turret-fire away from vital components. Additional layers of heavy armor around key locations further enhance the durability of the RIDILL-class.

A set of six 200mm Rocket Launchers forms the main weapon system of the class. Six 200mm Missile turrets provide additional firepower while bypassing the target. A total of sixteen 25mm Gatling Turrets are strategically placed around the hull so they are capable to project their fire straight ahead towards the target on a clear line of sight. This allows the RIDILL to deploy a massive screen of projectiles when closing in on the enemy. To increase protection against small attack crafts and incoming ordonance, multiple 5.56mm Point Defense Cannons cover the hull of the ship.

While not designed for this purpose, the RIDILL-class is still capable to set down and lift off from planetary gravity up to 1.00G. Like all Tailsitter-Designs by V.M.E, the RIDILL is equiped with Gear, both for controlled and emergency landings. This includes for traditional Landing Gear, Multiple Parachutes and 'landing cushion' to dampen touchdowns. Manual thruster-override controls are set up to lift the shipp back into space, only useing as much fuel as actually neccessary.
Be advised: The RIDILL requires a flat and even surface to set down safely. Lakes of ice are are highly recommended as a landing side, since they are completely plane and provide a direct source for fuel.

Honorable mention
Papple2 - for the insight and feedback he gave me after a combat test. Visit his workshop to find very well made "The Expanse"-themed ships.

Husker54 - for his MCRN-Replicas and their paint jobs that he took to the next level. I've applied some of the mixed color-tone and material techniques on this ship and it turned out great! Go check out his stuff. It's great!

Whiplash141 - for his continuing service for the SE-Communitiy. I've been using his scripts and tools on almost any of my ships now and they became essential for advanced builds. Space Engineers wouldn't be the same game without him!

Also, does it have welders? The server I'm on has a 5 welder limit so i'm looking for something with no welders.

@Firebird_528: Inspiration for this specific ship came from the Angurvadal Rocket Destroyer, since it started out as an update for the frame. The general hull design took inspiration from various ships from The Expanse - including the Donnager.
