Raven Pack - CUP 1.3.2

Description
ROUGHNECK RAVENS - LAUZANNE

Roughneck Raven is a PF (Private Force) that formed as an offshoot of a larger company in 1984, taking on similar tasks and roles as their larger sister PF. Despite facing many hardships, the Roughneck Ravens continued onwards in operations around the globe, acquiring material, men, and money along the way; with their efforts leading them to persist into the 21st century. Using equipment many would consider obsolete and practicing tactics that are very eccentric, the Roughneck Raven's unique history allowed them to thrive as an underdog in the incoming insurrections and general state of global chaos. Operating from an offshore base on the east of Australian waters - No task too strange, no threat too great. They have gunships, and will travel for a job.

Formed from the aftereffects of the Russo-Turkish War of 1876, Lauzanne has seen much strife and conflict in its time. From the Civil War to break free from the Warsaw Pact, to the Refusal War of ‘89 where it fought against the might of the Soviet Union, Lauzanne has long been determined to retain its independence. Now a prominent middle power and a contender for command of the Black Sea and Eastern Europe, many eyes watch it with great interest, envy or malice…

With a modern defence force bolstered by an indigenous military industrial complex, the LDF is a potent army both within its borders and abroad.

Through legitimate (and illegitimate) means, the Roughneck Ravens uniquely field a massive stockpile of equipment from both East, West and everything in between. Ranging from Soviet Bloc era tanks to high end Western air superiority fighter jets and gunships. Their immense surplus of vehicles make them an incredibly formidable foe through sheer unpredictability and flexibility. Their income consists of contracts ranging from infiltration, security, to high level assassination and conventional warfare. They also operate on leasing their equipment. Their internal research and development teams also home-brew many battlefield inventions which they test on a regular basis. Roughneck Raven have very friendly relations with the nation of Lauzanne as well, often being the first hand to volunteer for testing cutting edge Lauzanne developed equipment.

As a crossroads between the East and the West, Lauzanne fields a wide variety of equipment from legacy Soviet AFV’s to modern Western equipment and indigenously-developed equipment. Although lacking in the raw numbers of larger militaries, the LDF boasts strong UAV support, interlinking of its forces and extremely modern small arms, aircraft and other AFVs.

Included in this mod are various reskins of base game and CUP content, including the Roughneck Raven faction themselves, The Lauzanne Defense Force; as well as their various uniforms. Featuring almost 20+ individual vehicles with over 60 unique camouflage patterns for each, including plain variants without RR labeling for general purpose use. Many of which are based on camouflage patterns from the Metal Gear Solid series.

The infantry used by Roughneck Raven are divided into two categories and three teams. D-ranks are considered the "rank and file" and should be CQC'd when given the chance. Equipped with older more commonplace gear and with plain uniforms, they comprise the backbone of any RR operation. S-rank soldiers are specialists, well trained and often veteran soldiers from around the globe who excel in duties given to them.

The Combat unit is the standard fighting arm of Roughneck Raven. They perform in all offensive and defensive operations, and are responsible for crewing the AFVs, fighting on the ground, and being an independent fighting force.

For heavier support weapons not suited to the more mobile style of the Combat Unit, the Support Unit carries the heavier weapons, such as ATGMs, tripod mounted MGs, and mortars. However, as the name suggests, they are strictly a supporting unit.

For infiltration, intelligence gathering, sabotage, and other unconventional tasks, the Intel Unit is called on. Consisting of scouts, demolitions experts, marksmen, and spies, the Intel Unit is key to preparing any Roughneck Raven mission.

With a spread of light, mechanized and airborne infantry, the Lauzanne Defence Force boasts a strong infantry kit thanks to its recent modernisations and the fires of the Spring War.

Light infantry fulfill most roles expected of such a force, providing a low cost and capable deployment force within its borders and within the wider region for defensive operations, counterinsurgency and fighting in urban areas. Equipped with older SP1 vests, they can carry a large amount of gear and ammunition to wherever it may be needed, with trucks, helicopters and light vehicles as transport options should the need arise.

For general purpose combat, rapid movement and maneuver warfare, mechanized infantry find themselves flush with the newest in small arms and other equipment. Riding into battle with the M-10 Hussar or M-19 Krokodil and backed by armoured and airborne assets, the mechanized infantry are the core of any given combat unit within the LDF. As they say, it always comes down to the infantryman and his rifle.

Supporting both groups are the reconnaissance troops. Equipped with more Western weapons and standard-issue suppressors, these soldiers carry out scouting, deep raids, assassination and other unconventional tasks unsuited to the other two groups, Often seen with the M-13 Mink LSV, they are the eyes and ears of the LDF.

Having acquired a large number of vehicles, the Roughneck Ravens fare well in any modern mechanized battleground. From smaller wheeled vehicles like the Fennek, all the way up to Leopard 2s and T-90s, Roughneck Raven has the tools for any job around. And with more hotspots appearing around the globe, more vehicles are bound to join the fray…

From operating the smallest little bird to the deadliest 4th and 5th gen warplanes, Roughneck Raven has somehow acquired an impressive arsenal of older gear which sees regular use in the aerial battlefield. In addition, numerous Hind helicopters as well as the modern Ka-52 and Mi-48 Kajman gunships have been sighted in Roughneck Raven colours. One can only imagine what they truly have up their sleeves, but rumours abound that they even got their hands on a Sukhoi T-50…

Although I wasn't intending to push this update out for a while, discovering what I was doing wrong with the helicopters has made me push this update out.

An additional faction, the Lauzanne Defence Force is now online. An Eastern European military and a Black Sea power, the Lauzanne Defence Force has elements of both Eastern and Western philosophies within it's military. More is on the way when it comes to them, from more infantry to vehicles ranging up to tanks. Stay tuned for more.
