A CO-OP Attack Map (v7)

Description
This map has been ported to Mindustry v7.

Summary
  • A max size Attack map made for CO-OP, but can also be beaten in single player.
  • A map with a 2 enemies: Red and Blue. Will Blue help you attack Red or betray you?
  • Plenty of resources. If you have some large schematics you want to try them out then you can definitely use them in this map.
  • The enemy bases are not invincible fortresses, find and exploit their weaknesses.
  • No cheating infinite blocks. (1)
(1) After 5 seconds, there will be no infinite cheating blocks anywhere on the map; so no Infinite Energy blocks, no Item Source blocks, no Liquid Source blocks, etc.. Each resource is created somewhere on the map.

How to Play (Solo or Co-op)
  1. Close down Mindustry if it's still open
  2. Press the Green "Subscribe" button above
  3. Start Mindustry
  4. Press "Play"
  5. Press "Custom Game"
  6. Find and click on the map "A CO-OP Attack Map"
  7. In the "Gamemode Screen", select "Attack"
  8. Press "Play" and you are in the map :)
  9. (Optional) Press Escape and click on "Host Multiplayer Game" if you want other people to join you. You can also invite your Steam friends if you press "Escape" again and then click the new "Invite Friends" button.

Details
  • Map style: Attack
  • Waves: Not enabled by default.
  • Size: 500 x 500 (Max Size!)
  • Recommended Players: 1-40 players (Definitely doable solo)
  • Expected play time Solo: 3-6 hours. In Co-op With 10+ players: 1.5-3 hours.
  • Need Defenses? Yes. Even though you will not get attacked by timed attacks, your actions can cause counter attacks. Be sure to have some defenses ready and keep an eye on the Blue Enemy too from time to time.
  • is Blue my Ally?: No, they WILL attack you if you build too close to them. Air Units tend to go to energy generators, mech factories or just blocks that are close by.
  • Enemy Attack Difficulty: They aren't very hard, but if you are not prepared, they can cause some serious damage.
  • Enemy Defense Difficulty: Normal
  • You start With: 4 Cores (3 big ones and 1 small) and 10 separators (you can use them to get some early Titanium).
  • What will happen if I play solo? Because the counter attacks are based on actions and not on time, the map will not be significantly harder in solo mode compared to Co-op. You can take your time to build up your base before making a move.
    You will however feel that the map is inteded for Co-op because it will feel very big and open and you will need to keep an eye on counter attacks to protect your Cores.

Banned Techs
None

Special Rules
  • Players have 2x Build Speed
  • Reduced "Enemy Core No-Build Radius". From 50 tiles to 24. You can still take them out with ripples.
  • Increased Refund Multiplayer from 0.5 to 0.75.
  • Configure Loadout boosted to 2k copper and 2k lead to allow for a speed up at the start of the map to get everything going quickly.

Hints
  • Don't forget to save from time to time.
  • Need an overview? You can view the map by pressing 'M' (or 'comma' on AZERTY keyboards).
  • Need to look around? You can pan around the camera. (Default 'Mouse 5 Button')
  • Make some defenses You will get attacked when you don't expect it.
  • Need a panic defense? Arcs + Fuses are a good "panic" defense against ground units if you need one quickly. You can add Walls + Menders quickly afterwards.
  • Is Blue an Enemy? Blue is an enemy of you and also an enemy of Red. That doesn't mean that blue can help you attack Red.
  • How will I know if a counter attack is happening?If you see Red Units on your radar then you have triggered a counter attack mechanism and they will most likely attack you. Or if you see Blue units in your base.
  • Who will Blue Attack? Blue's air force likes to go to Energy generators (such as Combustion Generators and RTG Generators).
  • Why do I start with Separators? You can use them to get access to Titanium early on.
  • Progressing slowly?
    • Make sure you have a good income/economy
    • Building higher Tier units is more important than building more units.
    • Maybe look for some nice schematics to help you out
  • Enemy turret with ammo? Try building a 1x1 wall in range to empty its ammo.

Completed the map in 2:56:34, relaxed. The map is cool, just the thing to improve your critical thinking.

@snaap Oops, I haven't played this game in a while but I fixed the map and the duos now use Graphite instead :)

It was easy to invade the other bases and it was quite fun making a massive army.
