Exploration (Safe) Mode

Like the official safe mode for SOMA and its predecessor the Wuss Mode mod, this add-on for Amnesia Rebirth allows players to explore the world at their own pace without the fear of Tasi losing her mind and running off into the darkness. Unlike the official adventure mode enemies are still present but can no longer 'kill' you. They will still behave in an aggressive manner if they spot the player and although your sanity will still drain you will no longer 'die' if it runs out.

After completing Amnesia Rebirth I wanted to explore the world without having to worry about monsters or my sanity running out. Although I mainly made this mod for my own benefit I hope other people can find enjoyment in it as well.
While the official adventure mode is a much better option for those who wish to simply explore the world, this mod provides a middle-ground for those who wish to play at a slower pace without entirely removing the horror elements from the game.
If you haven't already played the main game, I'd encourage you to do so as this mod will not be in line with the developers original vision.

-Although your sanity will still drain, nothing happens when it is completely depleted apart from the usual effects and sounds.
-If you lose a struggle QTE, your character will simply fall to the ground and get back up.

-Movement speed decreased by around 50%
-If a ghoul spots you, it will slowly start moving towards you in a threatening manner
-If you get too close it will pick you up and throw you away
-This applies to Leon and any other characters who share the ghoul AI

-Movement speed decreased by 50%
-If caught in it's searchlight, it will scream and start slowly moving towards the player.
-If you get to close it will start the struggle QTE. If you lose it or get caught again, it will simply pick you up and throw you to the ground.

To install this mod simply hit the subscribe button and it will automatically download. Once download, launch the game and select custom stories from the main menu where you will see the option for Exploration Mode. Open it, and the game should start with the mod downloaded.

Open a blank notepad and insert the following script:
Name it ExplorationModeLauncher.bat and save it to your Amnesia Rebirth directory. From there you can create a shortcut and move it to any location you desire. This allows you to launch the mod without having to go through the main menu and load the game twice.

As I am still trying to work out the nuances of the enemy AI scripts there will likely be some bugs however nothing that should break the game. While I fully intend to polish and update this mod, I am wary of investing too much effort due to the possibility of an official safe mode being released some time in the future.

This mod, along with all my other mods for both SOMA and Amnesia Rebirth, is officially discontinued and will no longer be supported or updated by me.
