EMD GP7 - Charleston & Western Carolina

Description
This mod adds Charleston & Western Carolina EMD GP7s to the game. These are repaints of the generic EMD GP9 available in Transport Fever. Two liveries are provided: The original purple scheme as delivered from EMD, and the black scheme applied in 1957.

Versions / Availability:
  • 1950-1957 Purple, silver & yellow scheme.
  • 1957-1960 Black & yellow scheme.

The Charleston & Western Carolina (CWC) was formed in 1896 as the result of the South Carolina legislature forcing the Central of Georgia to give up it's railroad properies in the state. Two railroads, the Port Royal & Augusta Railway (PR&A) and the Port Royal & Western Carolina Railway (PR&WC) were then folded into the newly created Charleston & Western Carolina. In 1897, the Atlantic Coast Line (ACL) gained control of the CWC. However, it wasn't until 1959 that the CWC was fully merged into the ACL.

The EMD GP7 was the first in the line of "General Purpose" diesel-electric locomotives built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division. They were built between 1949 and 1954.

Yes, Had boxcars, the PICK XXXX were mostly painted in a Bi-Centenial scheme. Also had a bay window caboose and combine that I never saw move once in the 24ish years I lived in the area.

The locomotive roster is very hodgepodge. The only locomotive I have seen modded in game is the B40-B. The only photos I can find of these are still in CSX colors, minus the CSX on them. The rest of the locomotives don't exist in TPF2 yet. I'd like to see a B40-8 in Pickens blue like PICK 2 was though if it is possible.

I remember growing up seeing them when we'd go from Easley to Pickens, sometimes working the mill or cement plant. Later the only thing they moved was older locomotives to their shop to rebuild them before that line was removed out of service and turned into a trail. Their other branch, I have only seen photos of.

@Vulgaris Magistralis - "...stuff for Pickens"? Would you give an example.

Finally a few more SC based locomotives. Now if someone could create some stuff for Pickens, grew up seeing this stuff.
