The Adeputs Sororitas, also commonly referred to as the Sisters of Battle, is the military arm of the Ecclisiarchy (more formally the Adeptus Ministorum), that brings the Emperors mercy to all those that seek it and his wrath to all that deserve it.

The Adeptus Sororitas is an organization formed at the end of the so called age of Apostasy from the remains of the so called "Brides of the Emperor". It consists entirely of women in order to circumvent the "Decree Passive" that forbids the Ecclisiarchy from having "men under arms", after their Transgressions against the wider Imperium during the Age of Apostasy.

The current Adeptus Sororitas forces are made out of religious fanatics of the highest order who's unquestionable faith in the Emperor's salvation can at times even save them in moments of near certain death.
While the Sisters of Battle are in fact (mostly) unaugmented Humans, their Arsenal easily rivals that of the Adeptus Astartes. even being able to wear Power Armour into Battle and wielding mighty Boltguns during Battle.

While the "Sisters of Battle" is a name most would equate to the Sororitas as a whole, there are multiple orders of the Sororitas that focus on medicine, and education and linguistics
