-----BASIC INTRODUCTION-----

The latest in Gravatonic Technology, the USSF Wandering Sky is the test bed for developing gravity controlled substructures within a ship. This ship was designed to develop and test the possibilities of using gravity generators to control a structure in tandem with a piloted ship. The answer to that question is "yes you can", and with this ship as proof, the USSF can continue finding further applications for this technology.

This ship is a science vessel, and as such isn't intended to be used in combat situations. Although primarily a science vessel, it has been fitted with point defense systems to protect itself against enemy encounters. The interior is pressurized and has small capabilities for production and aid.


-----NOTES ON HOW TO OPERATE-----

This ship is purely intended to be used in outer space, use within atmosphere is impossible. This ship is not a fighter craft, you have to handle it with care and patience. Don't turn to fast or you risk colliding with the ring.

  • 1. Once the ship is built or spawned into a world, you must disconnect the ship from the ring. Do this by either grinding away all the red blocks that connect the ship to the ring or by simply deleting them.

  • 2. When the ring has been separated from the ship, find your way to the cockpit in the main ship to access the control panel. Once in the control panel, go to the drop-down menu next to the remote access button and select the newly formed grid. Once in this control panel menu, select the *Gyros (Halo)* in the control panel, then toggle the "Override controls" button to make the ring begin rotating.

  • 3. When wishing to turn with the ship, please note it can collide with the ring if done too quickly. It's advised to operate the ship as if it were a boat in water. If you wish to turn the vessel, you should go forward or backward while turning. This allows the gravity fields to better interact with the ring's artificial mass blocks.

-----KEYPAD FUNCTIONS-----

When climbing into the pilot seat there is a set of controls available to control and fly the craft. Here's a list of the number key and it's corresponding function.

  • 2- Toggle "Lock/Unlock" Port side connector
  • 3- Toggle "Lock/Unlock" Starboard side connector
  • 4- Toggle the Air Vent to "Depressurize On/Off"
  • 5- Toggle the Oxygen Tank to "Stockpile On/Off"
  • 6- Toggle All Batteries to "Recharge On/Off"
  • 7- Toggle Spherical Gravity Generators "On/Off"
  • 8- Toggle Linear Gravity Generators "On/Off"
  • 9- Toggle All Gravity Generators "On/Off"

i think people want more use of controlled gravity fields to shoot out the ring or other gravity bound objects as a sort of torpedo or shielding method, maybe have the ring be separated into 4 sections that can be missile drones piloted by crew or yourself, wouldnt need a missile silo if they floated in park around your vessel,

It's called "Space Engineers" not "Space Soldiers PVP Extreme Combat Hardcore Military Simulation".
Always "how can I add weapons?" Geez...

Also: if you want to weaponize it, just do it in Creative mode yourself. I often modify by myself ships and vehicles took from Workshop (usually adding Reactors or Solar Panels) and keep them saved in my local blueprints.

I leave the customization of it all up to the community. If you guys want to make something to top even metal gear, then please do so. I would love to see what you guys do with it.

is there cargo container in under the turrets so that it has a bigger supply for ammo per turret

I didn't make this ship with combat in mind, although maybe next time I'll make one centered around style and combat. But I doubt the tactical effectiveness of what a wobbly free floating ring can provide. Maybe the enemy will pause and just admire for a moment first?

its the ring it has the weapons but other then that ship itself is defensless
