Proto Venture

The Proto Venture is a low level, non warp CV meant for cargo transport and resource gathering in the early game. Rather than building a more expensive cargo SV, I prefer a really basic CV for going to the moon for the first time. It doesn't quite have the functionality of a proper starter CV, but it makes getting the resources together to make a more robust set of builds for entering into mid game far more convenient and efficient. The whole thing has an outer layer of steel, with no exposed container extenders, and a lot of the perks of a modest starter base. Both sides have a small balcony which is convenient for gaining a vantage on early game POIs or, along with the sentries, dealing with ground troops when mining in hostile teritory. It is also short enough that you can easily drive a small mining or combat HV onto the top landing pad. Might even be able to fit an SV up there as well if they are small enough. It is small enough to be able to park in a larger carrier hanger as well (fits through a 13x7 door easily), so if you opt to keep it around into mid and late game it works great for picking up resources from autominers and water generators without spending the fuel flying your larger vessels planetside.

Reforged Edition
I actually did the initial build in reforged creative. I have screenshots for its stats and build cost above (second set). It was explicitly designed to work in both, with the normal differences between the two. Reforged is more expensive, and you get less bang for your buck from thrusters, but armor is better, and I believe the small constructor has more recipes.
