Class description
Patrol boats (PB) are designed for local patrol duties and escorts. Being small in size and cheap in price, they can be built quickly and replaced just as easy. However, their small size limits weapons to mostly low calibre APS and small calibre missiles and torpedoes. With only light armour, they cannot take a beating and will rely on their small profile, stealthiness and mobility to survive.

The ship
The Relentless class Patrol Boat originated as a variant of a Defiance class hullform, which has been in a Lend-lease contract for the Steel Striders and is still used as the Cutlass class patrol boat available to the player. The Relentless was designed to provide a balance between Anti ship, anti sub and anti-air measures. In contrast to the cheaper Warspite and Blowfish, it has better offensive and defensive measures and a light 100mm main gun instead of the 60mm autocannons found on Warspite and Blowfish. With a top speed of 24 m/s it's reasonably fast for a patrolvessel, but is less ideal when it comes to hit and run tactics. Its compact formfactor and relative cheapness means it can be built in relatively large numbers, making for an ideal ship for early scouting and capping territory.

Basic stats:
Cost: 36k
L/W/H: 51m / 9m /16m
Speed: 24 m/s
Turningcircle: 375m
Firepower: 15
Armament:
APS: 2x100mm in single turret
Torpedoes: 2M
Missiles: 16S in VLS, 8S in single turret
Armour: 2m alloy (nominal)

Depends on the speed at which it travels of course. It has a fuel engine with turbo's so it will not have the best efficiency. Rather it is designed for reasonable power production in a small space.

At max speed (24 m/s) it uses 1.29 mat/sec. Which comes down to 18.6m per material.

I define economy cruise usually at 70% power but since every change resets it, it probably isn't set in the uploaded vessel.

At cruise speed (20 m/s) the ship uses 1 mat/sec.

A CJE generator will have a better efficiency, but at a much higher initial cost (and repair cost).

Hope that helps.

How Fuel efficient is it?

Thanks a lot raybeak! Really pleased that you like them :) There's 2 to 3 left in the pipeline still, after that the corvettes will start making an appearance!
