Description
This vehicle has been replaced by the VME Ulfur - Light Utility Vehicle

---

The G.CS-LUV-1 Light Utility Vehicle by Valkyrja - Maintenance & Engineering is a small, electric pick-up truck, ready to be modified for personal, commercial and military usage.

Designed as a platform, the LUV relies on modifications to make it suitable for its user. By itself, the truck comes without anything but the most basic components to serve as a survival-capable vehicle.

A single large battery provides power for multiple hours. Standard-loadout also contains an additional passenger-seat. In case the vehicle happens to land on its roof, a gyroscope is set up for override to bring it back on the wheels. And as with most V.M.E-vehicles, a tow hitch is included to attach various trailers to it.

This item is survival-ready, but with limitations! You are required to modify this vehicle to fit your game to use its full potential!

Ready for DAS!
The vehicle is set-up to be operated with the Driver Assisting System-Script, including lights. Just load the script into the empty programmable block and you're good to go!

Since the scripts strongly interferes with the vehicles general behavior, I decided against including it in the blueprint.

Compatible trailers:

Datasheet
Blocks: 223
Non-armor blocks: 83
PCU: 1,593
Triangles: 195,946
Grid mass: 14,385 kg

Authors Note
While the selection of available Rovers is contiously rising on our survival server, I often find myself in the position, of not having just the right vehicle I need in the moment when this need occurs. This causes me to constantly having to remove parts and equipment from vehicles and exchange it with others.

The LUV was made to have a more basic platform available than the Light-Duty Truck, which has much less room for personal modifications due to its rather complex conveyor-layout. However, its simplicity makes the LUV-1 not a good rover for rookie-players.

Even though the battery will last for ~2 days with one charge, you will still have to recharge the vehicle eventually and will have to find a solution to do so. Given the circumstances of your game, you may simply slap a small reactor or two on it to keep it powered, or you fit a rotor-dock to your base (see screenshots).

To use the LUV-1 in non-breathable atmosphere, you are advised to cut out the control-seat and replace it with a basic cockpit. An Air Vent is already setup and connected to provide it with oxygen.

The trucks bed can comfortably hold two medium cargo containers or other equipment with similar length. Also the vehicle is stable enough to not tip over if you stack up to three loaded medium containers on top of each other. You might push these limits even further, but don't overdo it. This still is just a small 4x4 Rover after all.

How-to: Rotor-Dock For survival, easiest way to recharge the battery on the vehicle is to build a rotor on ground-level to your base (with power-supply) and put a rotor-head between the headlights at the front of the vehicle. You will have to grind down the flat half-block, and replace it with a full one to fit the head onto it. Then move the vehicle towards the base's rotor until the head meets the center, attach it to the base and set the battery to recharge. (visual reference)

Hey @LivegonCZE,
I don't think it's worth pushing all the possible variations on the workshop, as the concept of this vehicle is pretty straight-forward: Slap stuff you like on the bed, be happy.
If you have an idea for a vehicle, feel free to just post it in the comments. Although please understand that I don't make any promises for builds nor do I take commissions.

Hey Taidyr! Amazing vehicles! Will you relese some kind of collection with these modular plugins for LUV ? I started using your gatling gun trailer as platform for more installation like electric generator with assault canon etc... can we get in tuch somewhere for maybe consultaition or some new vehicles? :D

Hey @GasPedal,
The vehicle was updated in April 21 and still worked fine the last time I checked about a month ago. I still don't know what really caused the issue and have some local copies in my Rover-world with 'cursed' steering, so it does not seem like a fix was provided by Keen at any point.
I 'fixed' the problem by completely replacing the wheels and suspension on the rover and applying the same wheel-settings again. After that the truck was behaving normal again.

Hey just wanted to follow up, Has a fix for the steering been implimented on either end?

Nice vehicle, could you please add the controls to the description?

Hey @Katorea,
I've added a short how-to for the rotor-dock to the description. Hope this will help.

Nice work by the way!

What's the deal with the rotor-dock mentioned in the description? How would I build one? I could take a guess, but I'd love it if you could tell me exactly what this should be so that I don't mess it up.

Glad to help. I'll just keep playing with the LARV until the others are fixed. I want to try towing trailers with them.

Hey @Victor Vector,
thank you very much for bringing this to my attention! I can confirm this behavior, although I have no idea what's causing it. Multiple vehicles seem to be affected, but some others still work normaly.
Either Keen fixes this or I will deploy a fix, as soon as I found a solution.
