[Template Pack] Lake Town

Description
About
"A great bridge made of wood ran out to where on huge piles made of forest trees was built a busy wooden town, not a town of elves but of Men, who still dared to dwell here under the shadow of the distant dragon-mountain" (The Hobbit)

Esgaroth Upon the Long Lake, or Esgaroth - or simply Lake-Town - is probably the most known and appreciated town made of stilt houses on a lake from fantasy.
This template pack contains everything (or almost everything!) you need to create your own Lake Town!

Other than small details and decorations, the entire town in the pictures was assembled with this collection of templates. This is because the templates include everything you need: multiple types of buildings, the walkways in different rotations and directions, etc. All of the templates have a footprint of 16x16 (or multiples of that), which is the dimension of a "chunk" of the world, thus fitting perfectly on naturally occurring lakes.

IMPORTANT
The templates are designed for the Ascendancy in the Temperate Forest biome. Other combinations might be attempted but may require some tweaks by the player for optimal results.

Special thanks to Cirdain for organizing the October-November 2020 ACE Discord Server Contest "Template Pack Contest", which was the motivation for this creation!

Contents
Walkways
For Walkways, S stands for Shallow and D stands for Deep

The templates include midsections (straight), curves, tees (T-Crossing) and 4-way crossings.
Deep walkways also feature a platform (full 16x16 wooden platform) and an entrance that connects shallow walkways with the ground level.

Empty Buildings
For Empty Buildings, S stands for Small, M stands for Medium and L stands for Large

There are 2 small buildings, 3 medium buildings and 2 large buildings. The empty buildings are called "Lake Townhouse (Size/Empty)" You'll also find an additional medium building that can be placed on the shore, called "Lake Shorehouse".

Shops
The pack includes workshops for the following professions:
- Carpenter
- Mason
- Potter
- Weaver
- Blacksmith
- Engineer
- Cook
- Brewer
- Herbalist
- Shepherd
- Fisher (Fisher Mod + Archipelago Biome)
- Geomancer

They are all called "Lake Town __'s Shop"

Other Buildings
The pack includes a handful of other buildings:

- Lake Town Warehouse (storage building)
- Lake Town Tavern (Small Dining Area)
- Lake Town Great Tavern (Large/Fancy Dining Area)
- Lake Town Inn (Dining & Traveler Area)

Compatibility
This is a template pack and should be compatible with everything without issues as long as you also possess all the required mods:

- Stonehearth ACE (Unstable version)
- Fisher Mod + Archipelago Biome
- Glowy Windows

Links to these mods can be found on the right side of this page.

Addendum to my last post, it's something in your Lake Townhouse M2 design, same thing happened with that style of empty house, which is the same as your Herbalist shop.

The Herbalist Shop template has a build flaw somewhere in it, and goes red when attempting to build it. I've tried to track down what spot, but as usual with something that won't work, It cascades and turns the entire building red instead of just the troublesome part.

I am glad its not just me with buildings failing to finish building. when I try to build the blacksmith or warehouse for example they don't finish building.

i think i figured it out, something with how the extra map options mod works was causing the problems with the "two wide" structures

https://imgur.com/a/d1Ue9BF i can build it in a random spot on the water, but if i try and line it up in a spot to meet the walkways, it doesn't build. even have a ladder right next to it. but if i try and build a "three-wide" building in the same spot, it has no problems. same with a "one-wide" type building, but didn't screenshot one of those. both townhome for four and herbalist shop fail to build. only mods i have (if that effects it) are ACE, extra map options (so i could get a lake map), fisher job+archipelago biome, glowy windows, lostems, and mod repairer

Hmmm I'm not sure I understand the cases where they don't work, could you please provide a picture so it's clearer? I've tried to reproduce it but had no success.

Meanwhile, one thing that sometimes works for buildings when they say they can't figure out, is to add some random ladders to give them full access to the area all around it. While they build a lot of ladders by themselves, sometimes they don't think of building some that would allow them to go like to deeper water and such, and manual ladders can help!

hello! i have been having problems with building certain buildings. the "two wide" ones like the herbalist shop and townhouse for four constantly say the hearthlings cannot figure out how to build the structure. i can get it to work in certain locations, but i can't get it to work in a spot that would line up with the wood bridges (even if i remove the surrounding bridges after lining up the building)

Hi Dani, can i suggest you to add the trapper house and the hunter outpost? there isn't any house for them. Thx

Alright, thanks. You were right, I was able to solve it without unsubscribing to your template pack :)
