Doctorator: Healing Weapons

Description
Adds a convalessence powered medkit and medgun to the game. The Doctorator and DocShot are weapons that heal instead of harm, allowing you to heal your companions more quickly and effectively. Each can be found in the game without need of wish, and both are fully tinkerable. No more hoping your buddy stands in the healing pool, and no more having to trust them with your valuable tonics.

About:
The doctorator is a tier 1 artifact that can hold up to 24 drams of convalessence. It is equipped as a two handed melee weapon, functioning similarly to the healing pseudopod of certain amoeba. Each "attack" made with the doctorator consumes roughly half a dram of convalessence from its built-in tank, and heals for 1d6+1 hit points. It uses the tinkering bits 0011, and has full support for tinkering functions. The device has a boot time of 3 turns, and will not be able to penetrate the skin of even the weakest creatures until it powers up. The doctorator cannot be used to heal robots, and can be disabled by EMP effects. It can't be used on self, as its intended function is to allow for easy healing of companions. Its healing function is simply HP restoration; it cannot regrow lost limbs. Due to its wicked appearance, attempting to use the doctorator on creatures not in your party will aggro them.

The docshot is a tier 3 artifact that holds 12 drams of convalessence. It is a one-handed ranged weapon, but does not benefit from Pistol skills. Each successful hit with the docshot penetrates automatically, healing organic creatures for 1d4+1 hit points. It uses the tinkering bits 0013, and can be tinkered like pistols. The docshot has no startup time and does not anger other creatures, but consumes 1 dram per shot and does not automatically hit. It cannot be used to heal robots, and can be disabled by EMP effects. It can't be used on self, as its intended function is to allow for easy healing of companions. Its healing function is simply HP restoration; it cannot regrow lost limbs.

How to use:
Equip the doctorator in your hands, wait three turns for it to boot up, and force attack (ctrl+direction by default) the member of your party you wish to heal. Make sure it's filled up with enough convalessence. While your companions will put up with anything, most folks hate it when a stranger comes at them with a box of needles, so avoid using the device on NPCs that aren't your followers. Don't give it to any of your NPC friends; they have no idea how to properly use it.
For the docshot, equip one or two in your missile weapons slot, making sure to remove any other damaging pistols. The docshot will be immediately usable; just target your allies with ranged attacks to fire healing pulses at them. Because it has to heal over a distance, the docshot is much less efficient than the doctorator.

How to acquire:
Both weapons can be found as a rare medical supply item, or strewn about the ruined wards of Bethesda Susa. Alternatively, you can acquire a data disk and tinker one up.
If you're having trouble finding doctorator equipment, here's the item IDs for use with wish:
cats_doctorator
cats_medgun

Notes:
Since it consumes both your melee slots and has a startup time after equip, the doctorator won't be terribly handy for some builds. Characters that focus on getting the most out of their companions will get a lot more out of this item. The goal of this item is to provide a balanced and immersive way for players to keep their companions alive longer. Whether its used standing behind your tanky ally to help them withstand a horde of baddies, or between fights to supplement their natural healing rate, I hope you can find good use for the doctorator.
While not gaining the rate of fire and accuracy bonuses of pistols is definitely a downside, removing this property ensures you won't accidentaly disarm your allies.

Known Issues:
If you have tails, horns, or other offhand attacks, those might proc when you're trying to melee heal. Since the doctorator functions as a healing weapon, there's really no way around this. Since most follower heavy builds are espers, this usually won't be a problem.

Compatibility:
This mod should work with any other mod.
Barring a massive rework of missile weapons, this mod will work with all future versions of Caves of Qud.
Tested on 2.0.202.5
