A fantastic map, very well made and fun to build on. I would love to try your Paris-Le Havre map as well but i am afraid my pc wouldn't be able to manage that map in the later game.

Amazing map but it starts in 1990 and I'd like to start in 1850.

Part 3:
What I forgot 2 mention: Of course there is also the possibility of kinda stepwards rivers with painted waterfalls. But that does not look satisfying 2 me. An other critic on many of Ur rivers is, that they R simply not deep enough, or the river-beds shoud @ least be painted witzh some fitting texture. But of course this can be done afterwards by otheres if they have that high demands as I do. And one last thing 4 the moment: 4 realistic looking springs I don not have any plausible idea yet. So if I'd create a map I would never ever include a well in it. If a map of the playstore includes a well, that cannot be easily deleted/solvede somehow out; it is a complete NO GO 4 me only 4 that simple reason. :D

Part 2: The second idea is 2 select a area without original rivers on hight maps and draw some fictional ones with a photoshop-like tool in mostly level areas/vallys. Or one levels existing rivers out by e.g. altering the sea-level, and afterwards craft therein some rivers by "hand" in fitting flat areas. I know that it doesn't sond like magic or a revelation, @ all! But I am still convinced that the result would look much better, even though some work/effort would be required. The best results for the least work/time with high-maps one can get, is 4 sure of possible flat vallys with almost lever rivers or canals, of which one can easily alter the riverbank later on if necessary. I hope U could follow my words/thought, coz my english sadly is not that brillant. Chears! ;)

Unfortunately my PC is not capable enough 2 build my own maps. Therefore my ideas still R simply theories, but actually easily 2 B proven right. Even though it is no magic @ all I like 2 share them with U. In both "solutions" 4 the best results in combination with topographic data I see one has 2 alter the hight-map as following: If One want 2 keep the path of the original rivers (what probably mostly is the case), one has 2 craft one or more steps of the canyon, that the rivers themselves do not cut directly those tiny cracks as the do on this map. The Idea is to create a canyon where there is obviousy none in reality. This method works of course only if those canyons do not get 2 deep / if the original rivers the data is taken from R not leading very steep from mountains.

Nice to hear about your potential better results. I'm no longer painting river since I've found another way to make them. Please share your's, otherwise just go and upload your own work here. I'll take a look with a lot of attention.
Thank you for your positive comment about landscaping.

What was not positive about gloryfying the landscape? Anyway; as long I don't know what "trick" U R refering 2, it maybe doesn't make sense trying 2 explain my ideas 4 better results. Only if Ur "tricks" R painted rivers, I'm sure my results would look much better.
