SNS Archer Light Cruiser (MK1)

Description
The SNS Archer Class Cruiser is a vessel intended for space warfare and was not designed with landing on planets as a function. The SNS Archer Class Cruiser is not the fastest ship, or the toughest ship but it fulfils it's role as a medium sized cruiser intended as a frontline navy warship.


Ship dimensions: 55x37x151

The SNS Archer Class Cruisier comes equipped with a plethora of armaments;
40 broadside Small Ranged Cannons (auto), 32 broadside Small Gatling Cannons (auto), 8 turrets equipped with Recoil Barrels (auto or control), 2 turrets equipped with 4 Small heavily upgraded Beam Cannons each (Auto or control), 14 Large Ranged Cannons (primary) and 6 Large Beam Cannons (Secondary).

The Broadsides are intended to target small or medium ships, the Small Ranged Cannons will pick small and medium ships off at range and the Small Gatling Cannons will chew them apart up close.
The Recoil Cannon Turrets are intended for engaging ships that are out of the broadsides line of fire.
The Beam Cannon Turrets are intended for precision damage and to pierce through ship hulls to hit critical systems.
The Large Ranged Cannons are intended for either engaging targets at extreme range by taking control of the ship and using the targeting camera by using the monitor and pressing 2 or engaging large ships.
The Large Beam cannons are intended as the main ship killer armament, capable of eviscerating ship hulls.


The SNS Archer has a full command deck, engineering bay, medical bay, armory, crew quarters and a bridge that can lift upwards for a outside view or remain inside the ship for extra protection. The logic racks are located in the bridge.
The entrance to the ship is on the bottom through a connector, it uses a off set gravity generator to pull you towards the floor of the entrance shaft, following the shaft will pull you inside the ship and re-orientate you to the normal ship gravity axis.



Ships controls:
Located in the Command Deck are 10 turret control stations. going forward to back on their respective side, forward most upper turret, back upper turret, forward lower turret, back lower turret, beam turret.

On the Bridge is the ships control station. After seating yourself in the control seat and taking control of the ship you can raise or lower the control station by pressing tab and flicking the bottom left switch. you can also take use the targeting computer by pressing tab whilst using the yoke and selecting the monitor above you.
The Primary button fires all 14 forward facing Large Ranged Cannons, The Secondary button fires all 6 forward facing Large Beam Cannons, hotkey #1 opens or closes the Connector (will control ship docking in the future), hotkey #2 fires the main 6 Large Ranged Cannons intended to be used when using the targeting computer.


Note: due to the Turret AI being a tad bit on the dumb side the turrets may, if you are turning a lot during combat, blast holes in your own ship. to try and limit this keep the broadsides and turrets facing your target.
Also the connector was used because in the future the dev will add the ability to dock with connectors.

When creating this ship I based it off two ship designs languages, the Mass Effect Alliance Cruiser (largely) and the Halo Covenant Corvette (minimally).
