Description
Navigate the Lower Mainland and connect the Vancouver metropolitan area with the automated SkyTrain.

'The next station is: Columbia. Passengers for Surrey, change trains at this platform...'

Since beginning construction in 1982, the SkyTrain has grown into the longest rapid transit system in Canada, and one of the longest automated rapid transit systems in the world. Its route runs through the Vancouver landscape with both underground tunnels and elevated platforms; much of its original route is on an elevated track providing a scenic view of the surrounding city, giving the SkyTrain its name. At its peak, the train services over half a million riders per day.

Currently, the SkyTrain operates 3 lines providing service to 53 stations across Greater Vancouver, with multiple upgrades and extensions over the years, and further expansion planned for the future. The city's transit system also features a large network of public buses, in addition to a commuter rail and passenger ferry.

Inspiration for line colors:
- Line 1 (blue): the Expo Line, which entered full service in 1986 in time for its namesake Expo '86. Runs from downtown to New Westminster, and then into Surrey. A separate branch goes north and connects to the Millennium Line.
- Line 2 (yellow): the Millennium Line, opened in 2002. Runs from the Broadway corridor to Burnaby and the Tri-Cities.
- Line 3 (light blue): the Canada Line, which opened in 2009 and saw its highest usage less than a year later when the city hosted the Winter Olympics. Runs south from downtown, with branches to Richmond and the Vancouver International Airport.
- Line 4 (green): the RapidBus, operating on the most frequently-used routes of the city's bus network. This color can also represent the Evergreen Line, a planned fourth SkyTrain line that was later incorporated into the Millennium Line.
- Line 5 (orange): the 99 B-Line, operating on the Broadway corridor. Prior to the launch of RapidBus, other major bus routes also used the B-Line designation.
- Line 6 (purple): the West Coast Express, a commuter rail service connecting downtown to the Tri-Cities, Maple Ridge, and further east into Mission.

In Night mode, certain lines are given different colors for better contrast:
- Line 1 (white): the NightBus, providing late-night bus service throughout the city.
- Line 6 (brown): the SeaBus, a passenger ferry connecting downtown to the North Shore region across Burrard Inlet.

Features
- Starting from Vancouver's downtown core, expand your metro south towards the airport and east into the suburbs, with a maximum of 6 lines.
- Bridges are a valuable resource, and you'll only receive one per upgrade. Do you keep a bridge or two ready for when you need to cross the Fraser River, or spare an extra to use as a shortcut across False Creek or Burrard Inlet?
- If you can successfully manage your initial stock of 6-passenger Mark I trains, later on you'll gain access to the 8-passenger Mark II. Use your resources to their full potential.

Achievements
- Compass: Deliver 800 passengers in Vancouver.
- Gold Medalist: Deliver 2010 passengers in Vancouver.
- Pacific Terminus: Reach week eight in Vancouver with at least one station connected to all lines.
- Evergreen Extension: Reach week ten in Vancouver using no more than three lines.

Have fun!

Quite difficult to use creative mode to place stations in the downtown peninsula. Any chance of a fix?

@Blueeyedrat I did need a bridge. I played a second time and it happened again.

@Soulack - That tiny stretch of water between Coal Harbor and Stanley Park is currently flagged as decoration in the map file. (Did you need a bridge to connect to that station? If so, then it's a bug, but if not, then it's working as intended.)

I had a station spawn in the middle of coal harbor. Is this supposed to be on the Iron Workers Memorial Bridge or is that a bug?

Ah, my hometown transit system. The official map lends itself so wonderfully to this game, thanks for making it :)

Those color choices are deliberate. They're based on actual transit maps, Night Mode included.

I just updated the description, giving some more detail about all of the line colors. I hope that clears things up!
