Description
Eagle Industries
Welcome to Eagle Industries, a startup company that brings you the best brand spanking new military hardware out there. If you're looking for an honest, environmentally responsible product; you've come to the right place!

Class description
Submarines (SSN) are nuclear powered vessels designed for anti-ship and anti-sub operations. The class varies from small drones to large vessels. Being relatively underpowered for their cost, they rely on their immunity against most weapon systems for survival.

The ship
The Stingray class attack submarine is designed to overcome all the issues with the smaller Orka and Vortex classes: which can be listed as being low on power, relatively slow, vulnerable to damage, little to no AA capabilities and relatively low firepower. The Stingray is designed as a mainline attack sub, and the largest attack submarine available within Eagle Industries. It is also the most advanced attack sub, with automated depth control when in manual drive, automated periscopes, automated pitch control, manually activated shields and a large powerplant which is better protected.

You can expect the Stingray to be able to counter subs and surface vessels at least twice its cost and survive. At just under 200k, she's proven herself to be sink ships over 600k in cost, making her a deadly opponent and a must have in any navy. She also counters enemy subs better than most surface ships can, thanks to her being dedicated to anti-sub and surface warfare. A small AA suite is available, and will be able to kill most smaller planes up to 150k in cost. This sub should not let you down, and is especially useful for its low running cost and being to punch way above its weight. IMPORTANT: Like all subs, she is not a brawler. At all times, try to maintain a distance around 3,5 km to the target.

Controls:
The AI will be able to control this vessel, more dynamic operations are possible with human control. First, turn off the AI movement.

T+G provide main power. 50% power gives a stable power consumption, anything above it slowly drains the batteries.

O+L provide depth control. 100% gives a positive bouyancy resulting in the vessel surfacing. -100% provides a slight negative bouyancy. Around 0% gives a near 0 m/s vertical speed when under power. NOTE: Please make sure secondary drive is in neutral or slight negative when using any of the automated systems (AI control or depth control)

Y+I provides yaw authority

A+B (de-)activates depth control at 20m, useful when up against aircraft or in shallow waters.

D+E control shields. Activate them when up against supercav shells, make sure you make the angle as shallow as possible to maximize deflection chances. WARNING: Shield usage will drain your energy.

Note: Unlike the Orka and Vortex, the reactors provide enough power for the main engines. Using the shields however, will drain power.

Basic stats:

Update: v28.
Changed VLS missile behaviour to launch differently, allowing them to work at much greater depth. This is a BETA TEST update, and may not work as intended straight away.
