ZE VTOL Framework

Description
A levitating framework for your vehicles like VTOLs, blimps, hovercrafts and airships.
  • Providing smooth tilt and yaw stabilization, idle position hold, manual and automatic altitude hold.
  • Exploits the game physics bug, where the wheels generate a phantom force if they are pushed with sub-bodies of the same vehicle.
  • Capable of carrying at least 20000 mass units and more.
  • Can turn across the yaw axis with roll tilt if moving forwards.
  • When horizontal mode is turned on, pitch tilt is disabled and propulsion value should be set to the horizontal mode throttle node, either with seat axis, lever or other numeric source.
  • Tilting and lifting accelerations are tuned by corresponding pilot seat axis sensitivity.

  • You can change the position of the wheel pushers by cutting and pasting them. I recommend to place them along the vertices of the rectangle, and the vehicle's center of mass should be at the intersection of its diagonals.
  • If there will be a weight disbalance, adjust the microcontroller pitch trim. Do not change the pilot seat axis trim because its nonzero values disables the automatic position hold.
  • Wheel pushers require at least 1 block of free space around them to avoid collisions.

is there a way to make the altitude hold change faster? i was using it for something that requried fast changing in altitude hold

i kinda would like to be able to go fast with this?

what would i have to edit to make it go extremely fast? like 1000 miles per hour to 400 mph ranging around there or even higher speeds

Just wondering, it would be possible to use this with a 2 rotor setup? Currently working on a VTOL and i really can not make it work currently and looking for a microcontroller. Any suggestions?

I have been experiencing the same issues as mark zuck-on-deez-nutz. Horizontal mode causes slight yawing.

when i turn on horizontal mode it kind of spins right (this is after i added an my own stuff)

Kirbcake, balance them relative to COM
Also, what to do if it pushes you vehicle to the side when on the ground

So how do you get things made from this to be remotely stable? Anything more complex than a big cube and it just flips out and spins upon lifting.
