New Miller Cylindrical Projection

Description
The Miller cylindrical projection is a map projection commonly used in cartography. This mod aims to re-project the heavily distorted vanilla map—filled with inconsistent projections and artificial warping—onto a standardized map based on GIS (Geographic Information System) data.

This mod does not alter the placement or ownership of provinces. It only remaps them to appear accurately within the Miller Cylindrical Projection (MCP). No new provinces are added, which means it's compatible with many other mods. In theory, it can be used alongside any mod that doesn't significantly alter the map.

Additionally, this mod redraws the coastlines, rivers, and terrain of East Asia and surrounding areas up to Papua Island. This provides a solid foundation for future mod development, especially for those who wish to include East and Southeast Asia in the base game. Some regions without established historical regimes during the game’s timeframe (e.g., northeastern Siberia, central Africa) are also included purely for projection accuracy.

Currently, this mod has no plans to add regimes like Japan, Korea, China, or Srivijaya to the map, but their geographic locations have already been outlined. Anyone is welcome to use this map as a base for their own projects, provided the source is credited.

This mod is not Iron Man compatible due to changes in map data.

Geospatial data is sourced from NASA Earth Observations and Natural Earth.

  • Areas with potential for future vanilla expansion are pre-mapped and ready for modding use.
  • Carefully crafted paper-style maps designed to closely match the vanilla game's aesthetic.

Bug Reports & Questions & Suggestions
Although I've adjusted the coordinates of map objects, many are still randomly generated, which may cause issues. If you encounter bugs, have questions, or want to share suggestions, please feel free to leave your feedback.

How do we make it show the full map? I am getting your projection to show up correctly. The map is still torn, and I am getting the world cut off at Thailand.

Of course I’ll make it compatible as soon as the DLC is released—in fact, you can tell I’ve been preparing for this all along just from the fact that I included the East Asian borders in the very first version

提交几个bug:1.肯特伯爵领,教会地产坎特伯雷主教区和特殊建筑坎特伯雷大教堂部分重叠;同坎特伯雷伯爵领,城市地产罗切斯特市与河流上的桥部分重叠;3.米德塞克斯(伦敦)伯爵领,城市地产南韦奥尔克市是农田地形,但是没有农田贴图;4.南撒克逊伯爵领,仔细看靠近海岸的地方有一条黑线,似乎是农田贴图重叠有些许问题;

地图有一些音效坐标,例如市集嘈杂声,农场动物声等。这是原版最初就有的。不知道是不是后来p社原版调整了音效装置的声音大小。我之后检查一下。

在一些特定地区拉近的时候会出现非常嘈杂的音效,特别是波希米亚等地区,通过开关MOD检查发现应该是跟地图修改有关,不知道是不是地形改变音效触发的问题?
