I started fumbling through trying to hex this onto the military sniper but I failed pretty hard. Got the world model down but had to remove some stupid jiggle bones. The mod you linked to also has some weird animations.
I will try again later after I attempt to follow some tutorial (if I can find one)... I was just stumbling through with no direction I was surprised I even got the world model lol. Anyway, I'll post back here if I ever figure it out.
I've not hexed any models before, so I would have to look into the process. I've got some icons and scripts in my queue to complete, but perhaps after that is done, I can take a look at it. No promises it will turn out well, though.
Most mods will always be on your end, so they will work online, provided you have sv_consistency 0 and/or sv_pure 0. I put these in my autoexec.cfg
Models I think they are less discriminating and will always show, but if the host is using different scripts or animations, your side may look a little funny. Other than that, for the most part, they "work" I haven't seen or heard many complaints.
When in doubt, you can always choose Play Online > Create your own game, and choose "Local Host" under the server option. You are still joinable and it is the same in every way, except it lets people who join your game use your mods/scripts (though they will be using their own models, if that makes sense)
Hope that helps. All the standard disclaimers. Batteries not included. YMMV.
