Passenger Zeppelin “Bodensee”

A replica of the LZ 120 Bodensee, a small passenger airship built by the Zeppelin Company just after WW1 for intercity travel. This replica has a full interior including internal structure, and has been scaled down to fit in the Large Ship Editor.

---> Spawns in Large Ship Editor e.g Creative Island Dock

---> Uses “Phantom Forces” to float

---> 45 Knot top Speed

---> Spacious seating for 9 Passengers

---> May need to crouch and jump to get around various parts of the interior and into the keel at the top of the crew ladder

--->Can cope with quite stormy weather, just difficult to keep straight with a strong tail wind


To Start Engines

Before starting engines climb to a few meters so as not to break the rear propeller

Turn on magnetos

Take the helm and press 3 for Engine Starters

Engines should idle at 0 throttle (the aft one may need a bit of encouragement)

Hold Heading by pressing the button below the altitude control


To Stop Engines

Simply Switch off magnetos

Switch off aft engine preemptively before landing so as not to break its propeller


Manoeuvring at slow speed

Press “Allow Differential Thrust” beneath the throttle

(Optional) Switch off the aft engine

I initially modelled the entirety of the gasbags, but that was too heavy, so now only the parts you see in first person are present.

Heaters now work properly, they will only turn on in cold temperatures
