Colouring Recruits (Greenlanders)

Description
After trying many "recolouring recruits" mods, I decided to make one that fits my interests, like:

- Interesting recruit locations.
- A bit of lore-friendly
- All armour slots available!
- Humans (Greenlanders)

Some friends had the same issue, then I decided to publish it.

This mod adds some new recruits that can change colour of clothes / armour or other items.

Instructions:
- Needs Import or fresh start.
- To change colour you just need to make that character wear a clean colourable armour, and it will change automatically.
- You can choose from up to 15 different colours (30 in total, if you have the "alt. coloured" from Colored Gear mod)
- Hairstyles NOT included!

Tips:
- Find a steady income source first, otherwise these recruits might drain your cats in early game.
- Build a lab-like house to place many Nutrient Bath to keep the idle recruits there, so you won't have to worry about getting extra food for them.
- [NEW] You can invest into the colouring recruits directly as hired swords for your squad. Each recruit has different skills and appearance that distinguish him/her from the others.

Recommended mods to run with this one:
Idle Training (Nutrient Bath Added) by Vampireteddygram:

Note: This mod adds the "Nutrient Bath", which it's not mandatory, but it's very effective for having idle characters like these.

Colored Gear by Seth:

Note: Seth already has a colouring recruits mod, but I wanted a compact version with no more than 15 characters with essential colors.

I'll check it out along with your mod. I'm currently working on a building that allows you to craft colored armor and using brewing barrels as ways to store different dyes and you would simply use "dye" witch will be an item much like some liquor, the "liquor" will be colored different colors and it will allow you to craft normal armors colorable or not into colored versions the same color of what ever dye you used. I just haven't figured out how to get custom colored gear the way I want it yet so I haven't even bothered with the crafting and dye portions yet. still trying to simply add a colored piece of armor in the game that I like the way it looks with the right textures lighting effects reflections and everything but I'm struggling with all that.

I'll be sure to check these out maybe I can figure out what I need to do by looking at them.

I strongly recommend to install the "Colored Gear" mod by Seth. That's one of the reasons that motivated me to make this mod.

Originally not all items are colourable. You need to edit/create their color camp, and even add filters to their normal map y texture map, along with adjusting their paint factor. This mod is a compact version, 'cause you only need to hire 15 characters in total to have all the colours. They can be combined according to your interested to created an uniform for your factiton or whatever you want to.

@Sukotto82 Hi! All these colouring recruits have the ability to dye your colourable gear. The vanilla game has some colourable armour pieces like the "Armoured Rag Skirt" and those that have the "Dyed" prefix. There are other gears that are colourable and don't have that prefix, like the Bandanas, for example.

I found a similar thing in the vanilla game with some tribe in the south I think that had a nice purple color so I captured one of them so I can "loot" them while they are in cage give them what I want to change colors and it changes to purple then I take it back and it keeps it's color. these are NPCs in the Vanilla game with no mods. I'm still trying to understand what's going on so I can learn to take advantage of this.

the closest I've gotten is similar to your mod but actually is already in the base game without mods and that is hiring someone from the city in the fog who ask for 100,000cats but you can negotiate them down to 5,000 cats and when I equip that specific unit it changes color of some items and then I can take those items off and put them on someone else and they stay.

not quite what I'm looking for. though I too am looking for a good armor coloring mod.
so far the best I've gotten is changing the color of my faction in the editor myself then anything that is colorable that changes based on faction color changes to my factions color but I have yet to find a good way to change color of armor so that different people in my group can equip different colors of armor.

@Fran The NB Folk LMAO I'm actually making some tweaks, and two of those were renaming the White and Gold. I had the white name, but was figuring out a good name for the Gold one. I'll do it!
Tonota 8 Jan, 2021 @ 1:16pm
YOU ARE OBLIGATED TO NAME THE GOLD ONE AURUM!!!
