For the operation of our long-distance FlixTrains, we cooperate with the most-successful private train operators in Europe. From German Start-Up to Europe's No. 1

FlixMobility was founded as the start-up FlixBus by three young entrepreneurs in Munich who had the vision of making sustainable bus travel both comfortable and affordable. FlixBus was officially launched in 2013 after the deregulation of the bus market in Germany and quickly became the leading long-distance travel provider within the country.



In 2015, FlixBus began expanding internationally with long-distance networks in France, Italy, Denmark, the Netherlands and Croatia, as well as cross-border regular services to Norway, Spain and England. Today, passengers from around the world can benefit from Europe’s largest long-distance bus service as well as new intermodal travel options. An international team of 3,000 employees in Munich, Berlin and international offices in Europe and the US – as well as thousands of our partners’ bus drivers and train operators – stand behind the green mobility provider. Founders:

Andre Schwämmlein-Founder

André is in charge of the international operations and expansion. Back in 2009, together with Jochen, he discussed and brainstormed the opportunities that a deregulated market could bring. As a fan of alternative mobility concepts, he doesn’t own a car and cycles to the office.

Jochen, Founder & Managing Director

Jochen is responsible for Corporate Development and Human Resources. Before founding FlixBus, he and André travelled the world as strategy consultants. During his studies he organized ski bus trips to the Alps, which was his first experience with the industry.

Daniel Krauss-Founder

Daniel takes care of IT, Mobile and Software Development. During his studies he founded a successful IT start-up with his schoolmate André. He eventually sacrificed his long time job at Microsoft – and his car – to create Europe's largest long-distance bus provider.
