Description
Direct From The Forest To The Home

The Aladdin Plan: Save all cost which adds no value, by selling "Direct from the forest to the home". Headquartered in Bay City, MI, Aladdin Homes was another manufacturer of pre-cut, ready to assemble kit homes sold by catalog in the early 20th Century. This is the "Style J" found in the 1909 catalog. This house is typical of what you might have found across rural America, particularly in the south and mid-west. I've done this one a little differently than in the past, and the lot is undecorated so that you can add your own personalization.

Standard disclaimer applies. The model will not be a 100% match to the catalog image. I was unable to find a real world example of this home, so I only worked from the catalog image and plan. Slight revisions were made to the front porch area.

Please give me a like with a "thumbs up" if you enjoy, and don't forget to follow me on Steam for more similar content.

These things are gorgeous! Would like to see more like this, or maybe even some shotgun-style houses, more that looks like the south United States. Great asset!

@Bungalow Man Yeah fr it's a shame the project failed and the homes never got offered again. I would live in one for sure. On the bright side I think there is one or two left that got moved to a different area of Miami.

(Remaining homes seen here, you might have already read this source though lol)

Anyway, I'm glad to hear you'll keep it in mind! :)

@samwl2002, I had no idea about Aladdin City. I just did some research, and I found 7 models that were planned/offered, some with variations. Interestingly, it doesn't appear that any of them were ever offered in the regular Aladdin homes catalog afterwords -not even in slightly modified form. I have plenty of inspiration to keep me going for awhile, but these are exactly the kind of things that intrigue me, and I will certainly keep them in mind. It was quite an ambitious project. Too bad it didn't succeed.

The Aladdin Company made a series of homes for Aladdin City Florida, a failed land boom development back in the 1920s. It would be AMAZING to see some of those :)
