That is horrible!
Hope you played the pc version later so you get the intended experience.
Remaster on Steam is great, very highly recommended!

I wanted to so bad, I don't have a mouse that worked, or my pea brain couldn't figure it out.

C&C 1 has different sounds yes, all of them.

But Red Alert the sounds are identical in all versions. :)
I played Retaliation last year, in PSXE emulator, to compare it to the PC original.

Except game menus, and less colours, the port was identical to the pc version.
if you played it with mouse on PS, you literally almost played the original game. :)

I took the sounds from there and I'm not sure how many sounds were replaced, it seems like c&c 1 had different death sounds at least. Besides, I grew up with Command and Conquer: Red Alert - Retaliation only :kabuki:

As a Die hard Red Alert fan that grew up with it and C&C 1, you should call it just " C&C: Red Alert", Retaliation is still just a Playstation 1 port, all the sounds are from the pc version, Retaliation added nothing new.
