Description
Forget about capturing the flag, now, you should really try to kill the enemy. Modifies 1 single thing that will never change (major_points_required_to_capture), so don't need to ask about updating already because it is fine, all versions of this game will be compatible. I can assure that with 99.9% certainty (I mean, it's the same table as Total War Attila, at the very least, so I guess even newer games could use this mod).


Feature: Affect Player and AI

In Vanilla, you first capture the victory point in 60 "seconds" then wait 200 points to tick down. In other hand, 260 seconds if no interruption. Also, because of the way the game treat units, to recapture the point (in other words, the 60 "seconds" part) is sometimes unfair if most of the enemy troops that retreated assembled on it. Like, yeah, you routed those skavenslaves, guess what, they are all on your victory point :)

I did not change the 200 points because it is useless, on the other hand, I turn the 60 "seconds" into something else. Because guess what, neither the Keep_capture_time nor the Settlement_location_capture_time change a single thing. Which is extremely funny, because you can change that 60 seconds into 85, 999 or 42 and it's useless. No, from what I tested, I changed that 60 "seconds" into approximately 30 minutes.

Yes, 30 minutes without interruption. Which mean, it is virtually useless to capture the point. On the other hand, the moment the point is captured, it is too late, it's impossible to take it back before the 200 points tick down. But here you have a "proper" siege battle, where either you or the enemy rout, not some magical flag that get captured and then the troops are like "Guess the enemy is too strong, they will certainly treat us well for surrendering, right? No need to fight to death since they won't eat us, dismember us, sacrifice us, burn us, behead us, torture us!"


Compatibility :

This mod won't affect anything else, is most likely save game compatible, and as I said, can even be used for future game as well (most likely TW3, the import would be almost identical).

The order of this mod would be at the top of everything since it is mean to overwrite other things for exemple:

1-Siege - No Victory Point Rush (This mod)
2-SFO/Lucky/Radious/ect
3-Other stuff you want

Since it is a variable from a primary table, no update will ever be needed.

PS: Image is from Vermintide 2, The Screaming Bell. What weighs several tons, draws ratmen like flies and sounds awful?

I hope you port this over to game three because siege game play in that game is terrible.

worst feature in total war, imagine if in real life there was a siege and you were some random soldier and recieved an order from high command that said the garrison has surrendered, mid battle, still at fighting strength, now you no longer have a home, your family and friends are dead, your a prisoner of war and might well be executed, the city razed
all because of some sneaky boi

Thanks for the mod!

You can outnumber the attacker 10 to 1 and you will still lose because they put one fast sneaky unit in the plaza while you weren't looking, and you don't have enough time to reach it to stop the ticking...
