Commonly known as a "tall tank," this package, for 1963 only, features a taller fuel tank that gives this front-mid engined sports car a rearward weight bias and nearly doubles Catamaran's driving range, specifically made for endurance races such as 24-hour types. This larger tank limits the X60 package to the coupe body style only, until the 1964 model year when the extended-range fuel tank is dropped from the X60 feature list and included as a coupe-only extra-cost option. Along with the fuel tank, this X60 package also includes Severe-Duty Spring & Shocks (nearly doubling ride frequency), Heavy-Duty Power-Assist front Disc Brakes and rear 12" Finned Drum Brakes, 360 horsepower fuel-injected 325 cubic inch Injecto-Lightning V8, Heavy-Duty 4-Speed Syncromesh transmission with chrome shift lever, color-keyed 3-Spoke Rallye Steering Wheel, and chromed lugnuts. This specific model is painted in Tarmac-Black paint with Suntan vinyl interior, and almost no extra-cost options are available for X60-equipped Catamarans aside from dual Safe-T Mirrors and Simulated Wood-Grain Rimmed 3-Spoke Rallye Steering Wheel.
