Description
The ED16 was manufactured for the electrification of Kofu on the Chuo Main Line and the Shimizu Tunnel section of the Joetsu Line, which took place in the early 1930s.
It pulled passenger and freight trains from 1931 to 1984.
From 1959, it was gradually repainted in a brighter grape color #2.

One of the only electric locomotives I've found that can easily stand in for an American boxcab like those used by the GN and Milwaukee Road. Would you maybe do the EF-16 and the EF-57? They look similar to the GN W-1 and the Milwaukee EP-3 and I'd love to have them.

A wonderful model indeed, however it seems that even this locomotive can fit into an American themed electrified railway. for there were many of them.. thank you for your work!!
