Description
Spiff's Practical Engineered Solutions, a division of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, presents the high-capacity AutoMole Moon Miner for trouble-free auto-mining utilizing the Path Auto Miner (PAM) script (in-game scripts must be enabled in advanced controls). The PAM script is pre-loaded in one of the ship's programmable blocks. Another programmable block has Whip's Block Renamer script, which is useful for quickly renaming all the ship's components to avoid "cross-talk" when operating several identical drone miners from the same station.

An AutoMiner Printer Bay for semi-automated construction of the AutoMole planetary miner is provided here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2305926680

The AutoMole Moon Miner has 12 optimally-spaced drills and 4 large cargo containers for ore storage. Its 12 drills are equipped with conveyor sorters and two ejectors each to collect only ore (and ice) and dump stone. Comprised of 463 blocks, the AutoMole Moon Miner is highly optimized to be a reasonably low-cost mining solution for a fully-automated Moon-based mining station. The AutoMole Moon Miner has 4 large batteries and a single large reactor for power. The front-facing connector makes docking and ore-offloading ore a breeze! (Make sure you've included a conveyor sorter between the connector and station's cargo container(s) that is set to "drain all" so that the docked miner will automatically empty its cargo containers.)

NO MODS, NO DLC, NO ROTORS/PISTONS; SURVIVAL READY AND PROJECTION BUILDABLE!

SHIP STATISTICS
- 463 blocks
- 10,174 PCUs
- 64 tons empty mass
- 278 tons ore mass
- 342 tons maximum gross mass (with 1-1-1 "realistic" settings)

CONTROLS FOR REMOTE OPERATION
{1} Drills (block controls when operating manually; the PAM script otherwise controls them)
{2} Front Camera - view
{3} Down Camera - view
{4} PAM Programmable Block - run "APPLY" (to start/end defining a path to the ore formation)
{5} PAM Programmable Block - run "START" (to start the auto-mining process)
{6} PAM Programmable Block - run "STOP" (to stop mining)
{7} PAM Programmable Block - run "CONT" (to continue mining when stopped)
{8} Docking Connector - switch lock
{9} Atmospheric Thrusters - on/off

NOTES FOR BUILDING WITH A PROJECTOR
The AutoMole miner is designed to be welded via a projector/merge block combination for an semi-automated manufacturing process using a ship printer.
1. As shown in the last picture, build a small-grid structure atop a projector with recess below the merge block to allow sufficient clearance for the miner's structure.
3. Load the blueprint and set the projector's vertical offset to -7, a forward offset of 1, and a pitch of -90; the projector merge block should align with the projected ship's merge block (see the last picture).
4. Build the miner.
5. When completed, depower the projector's merge block to release the ship and take control remotely.
6. You're done! Rinse and repeat.

PROCESS FOR STARTING A NEW MINING EVENT
1. While sitting at your station's control station, and assuming an AutoMole miner is docked to a connector, ensure the miner's atmospheric thrusters are on, then unlock on the station's connector to release the ship; this will allow you to access it via remote control.
2. Remotely connect with the AutoMole miner, then depress {8} to relock your ship to the connector.
3. Depress {4} to begin recording your path to the ore deposit; be sure to wait 3-5 seconds for the PAM script to establish "home" before you head out.
4. Depress {8} to disconnect from the connector, depress {2} to access the ship's front camera, then fly to your ore deposit location; depress {3} to view through the down camera and put your ship at about the center of the ore deposit's location, moving downward until approximately 10 meters above the ground to allow sufficient clearance for the uneven surface; depress {4} again to lock the ore location with the PAM script.
5. Depress {5} to start the auto-mining process; you should see your ship move into position and start mining.
6. If you ship gets stuck (this sometimes happens because of overhanging rock), "STOP" the mining process by depressing {6}, depress {1} to select the drills, right-click the drills to clear away stone that's interfering with your miner, then depress {7} to continue the mining process; it'll pick up where it left off and continue mining.
