Shazbot's Weapons

Description
Hello. This is my first mod here. I noticed there is a major lack of weapon variety, and while that might be intentional, I felt like it would be nice to have some more weapons with vanilla-esk balance as well as some that feel reasonably powerful. I plan to expand this mod in the future when more ideas come to mind. If something isn't working or isn't right, please tell me. This mod is subject to changes on my whim, although I will try hard to never break saves or ruin your economy.

When the caves updates hits, I will make ammo stack.

New weapons:

Pistol
Price: 100-225
Fabricatable: Yes
Capacity: 10 round pistol mags
Description: A cheaply made handgun. Uses very common smg rounds in simplified mags. A very good buy for someone who is on a budget and needs to arm more people.



Machine pistol
Price: N/A
Fabricatable: No
Capacity: 20 round smg mags
Description: A very finely made pistol. This version uses smg mags to feed it's almost uncontrollable firepower. It's blueprints though have been lost to time and the pistol itself can rarely be found in old ships.



Budget Shotgun
Price: 135-225
Fabricatable: Yes
Capacity: 3 shotgun shells
Description: A super cheaply made shotgun. I guess it's better than nothing.


Semiauto Rifle
Price: 720-1200
Fabricatable: No
Capacity: 5 rifle rounds
Ammo stacking: 8
Description: A well made semiautomatic rifle. Great for when you need to shoot something outside of shotgun range.


Automag
Price: 2000-3000
Fabricatable: No
Capacity: 8 round Automag mags
Description: A status symbol for rich captains. This .40 caliber magnum is sleek and powerful, able to put down almost anything in it's way.


Shrapnel Guns
Price: 270-900
Fabricatable: Yes
Capacity: 1 10 gauge shell
Ammo stacking: 4
Description: Some home grown designs. Rather low in quality, kicks like a mule, but able to stand it's oversized shells... for now...


Lever Rifle
Price: 900-1500
Fabricatable: No
Capacity: 16 revolver rounds
Description: How this cowboy style rifle became popular is anyone's guess, but with a 15+1 rounds on tap, no-one is complaining.


Carbine
Price: 450-750
Fabricatable: No
Capacity: 10 round pistol mags
Description: A cheap-ish rifle made from a modified pistol. Lets you really get a good hold of it for rapid fire while keeping it's accuracy.


Combat Shotgun
Price: 1350-2250
Fabricatable: No
Capacity: 12 shotgun shells
Description: An automatic shotgun. Able to spit out shot at a rapid rate, but hurts both accuracy and your wallet.


Suppressed Revolver
Price: 900-1500
Fabricatable: No
Capacity: 7 revolver rounds
Description: For when you need to go all sneaky beaky. Beyond the large suppressor and one extra round, not super noteworthy.


You can now buy ammo boxes. They are medium items that can hold 4 stacks of the corresponding ammo. Except the pistol, which holds 8.

The standalone mod is fully compatible and you can run both at the same time if you wish .

There are also now custom ammo for shotguns. These include side grades, upgrades, and one very powerful rare spawn!

The images are made from free stock photos manipulated into more unique weapons. All sound are from free sound libraries. Ammo boxes are based on resident evil ammo boxes but are made from the explosive sprites.

Hi! tiny gun nerd here. While this may be the case for a majority of revolver style firearms, there are some exceptions to this rule. Notably, the Nagant M1895

As the hammer of the nagant is cocked and the cylinder rotates, it pushes the cylinder forward and over the rear opening of the barrel. This creates a gas seal due to the pressure as the two slide into place. This means that all of the pressure in the barrel is going forward, unlike with a typical revolver where some gases may escape from the back of the gun. This allows the possibility of a suppressor to be attached and used to good effect.

Its impossible to supress a revolver as the cylinder gap releases gases.

It's very possible, doubly so with some of the other features this mod had, although with all the new weapons I might remove some of the redundancies. Just need to make the time to do all of this.

Great fun, but have anyone noticed bullets doing no damage sometimes.
There is sound, recoil, ammo drain and even the test dummy threw his arms as if he was hit, but no damage was dealt. Don't know how to reproduce. Just something I came across when testing the new ammo.

Don't worry. I found pistol mags at the store since and plenty of guns from wrecks. Although l haven't found much ammo from the mod the ones I've found more than make up for it. The explosive slug brings joy all on its own. The shotgun ammo is cool to experiment with as I have no idea what beanbag might mean XD.
Fabricated shotgun sounds great, good mod.
