Disclaimers:

  • Hvannaberg - The H is pronouced as a K

  • Requires an edited build area to be able to spawn.

  • Very laggy.

  • Scuttling was made to happen while stationary, happens real quick so be on your toes.

  • Some issues can be resolved by changing physics detail settings.

  • Works fine in waves. doesn't work well in wind (sometimes).

  • If the fire alarm is on when spawned, its due to you having infinite electricity on.

    Hvannaberg was an Icelandic stern trawler built in Sterkoder, Norway in 1978. Originally named Nokasa and was operated by Havfiske Pamiut ApS in Greenland. In 1988 she was renamed Nattoralik and then a year later Havfiske Pamiut APS was acquired by Manitsoq Trawl A/S. There Nattoralik was rebuilt. She was lengthened, and a superstructure was added underneath the bridge.

    In 1993 Icelandic shrimp pioneer Snorri Snorrason bought the ship and renamed it Baldur EA. Two years later in 1995, she was sold to a nearby fishery called Dalberg(later sold to Þormóður Rammi Sæberg), the ship was relocated and renamed Hvannaberg ÓF (Hvannaberg is named after a remote valley called Hvannadalir. Hvannadalir only had one homestead and most known for the Hvannadal brothers who became famous for their expedition to Kolbeinsey.) They made a deal with Greenland to search for new fishing grounds around of Greenland and Newfoundland. They had Hvannaberg acting like a factory vessel, Greenlandic boats would search and fish for shrimp, which was then loaded onto Hvannaberg, processed, and frozen. However, this did not go well since the ocean floor was mostly untrawlable and icebergs didn't help. They barely caught anything.

    September 1997 Hvannaberg was fishing north of Iceland and got hit by a breaking wave which heavily injured, and almost washed sailors overboard. Hvannaberg and another ship also affected returned home with the injured. In 1998 Hvannaberg was sold to Lithuanian/British fishery Vigomeras Co. Ltd and renamed Cape Ice KL. In 2001 she was bound to be scrapped but was snapped up by an unknown Faroese fishery and was renamed back to Hvannaberg TG. In 2003 Hvannaberg was purchased by Moyggjartugva P/F and renamed Sancy TG.

    In June 2006 Sancy was caught violating the territorial waters around Iceland by V/S Óðinn. The crew on Sancy turned off their tracking equipment when they entered Icelandic waters. Óðinn approached and Sancy ran. Eventually stopping and when Óðinn was boarding, Sancy ran again to buy more time for the sailors to delete files that would prove they were fishing inside the zone. The sailors didn't know how to delete the files of the drives and they were taken. Captain of Sancy was charged with, among other things, endangering the sailors from the patrol ship Óðinn by throttling up when they were being boarded. The captain was sentenced to pay around $5000 and 30 days probation.

    Sancy had become very run down and destined to be scrapped again when she was purchased by Torshafn / Oddvar Vea and renamed Guard Atlantic TN, two years later relocated to Norway where then in 2014 she was laid off and remained in dock until November 2021 when she was moved to Constanta in Romania likely to finally be scrapped.

    2/3/2021: Removed radar detect noise.

    4/2/2021: Was Provided with new reference pics so alot has changed. The ship received a gradiant, redesigned bridge, changed deck color from green to Brownish red, lengthened by 2 blocks or so. Messed about with crane and smaller things along those lines.

    8/11/2021: Bunch of ♥♥♥♥ has been changed including: stabilization, removed alarm, redesigned all interior, added another deck, among other things i can't for the life of me remember.

    9/3/2021: New HRU design

    2/22/2022: Ship has been overhauled. New interior, slightly longer, window wipers, and a reserve MOB boat. Plenty more that i cannot remember, along with probably an infinite amount of new issues.

    3/27/2022: Went through old newspapers to find more info and updated description with said info. Also made it easier to read.

    4/29/2022: Hull has been redesgined and looks alot better. the stern has also been redesigned so it looks more the like the real thing. Stability was improved but i find it to be inconsistent, Its great in waves, but only sometimes great in wind. I just don't get it. Got new reference pics so deck was altered slightly. Bridge and engine room also got redone thanks to new pics. Nav lights have also been improved upon now being much more flexible.

@sindresv I post pictures of my WIP projects one the official discord sometimes. The names of the current boats: Sigurborg SH, Pálína Ágústsdóttir EA or Sóley SH opens the door for a Farsæll SH aswell. Sólbakur EA opens the door for Bliki EA and Hólmatindur SU.
