I made my own addon to freeze or stop time. I tried this one for a while, but I thought that its effect was too strong. I also tried their other addon that doesn't have an effect, but then I couldn't tell when time was stopped or not. So I made my own!

You use this addon through keybinds. It's kinda incomplete at the moment, but I was taking so long with it I thought I'd just put it up here for you to see! It doesn't even have a setting to set who can use this command right now--only admins can use it.

Multiplayer: Only your host / server needs this addon installed. Players don't need to subscribe.
Single player: Just subscribe.

Open your console and type this:

bind backspace +caesura

You can use whatever key you wish in place of backspace, but make sure it isn't already something you use in Garry's Mod, because it'll overwrite whatever it currently does. If you type in "bind r +caesura", you'll never be able to reload again until you do a "bind r +reload" to fix it.

Then try pressing and holding backspace or whatever key you picked in game.

If you have issues with the visual effects getting stuck, check the Post Processing tab in your spawn menu and make sure everything is off.

To disable the message spam that comes from pausing and unpausing time, click on your chat window's "Filters" button and uncheck "Server Messages." This per-user workaround will disable all server messages (across all servers), though.

Replace [your_key] with any key on your keyboard of your choice.

+caesura (and -caesura)
bind [your_key] +caesura
This is caesura's main key. When you hold down your keybind, it'll make a sound warning everyone that you're about to stop or resume time, and then it'll actually do it when you release.

caesura_cancel_bind +reload
bind [your_key] caesura_cancel
This is a client side variable that sets a key to let you cancel your +caesura keybind. If you bound "+caesura" to b and held it down and then let go, it would stop time. If you hold down b and decide you don't want to stop time anymore, you can press r (+reload, or whatever bind you set it to), you can cancel stopping time and then let go of b safely. You can set this variable to blank to be able to use reload, and then bind caesura_cancel itself to another key, if you wish.

If you're one of those evil meanie server admins who like everything the way they want them right away, and don't want to warn anyone that you're stopping or resuming time, this is the keybind for you.

I have some hooks available for lua coders to use! If you make a great addon-addon, feel free to tell me about it, and maybe I'll ask you if I can include it in my next version of this addon!

caesuraTimescaleChanged function( oldTimescale, NewTimescale )
This is both a serverside and clientside hook that notifies you when phys_timescale has changed. phys_timescale is this addon's primary variable, and it adjusts everything, including gravity and game timescale, based on it.

caesuraUserPermissionCheck function( ply )
This is my addon's hook to check if someone is allowed to use it or not. Return true if someone can use it.

Server Side Death Ragdoll
My addon has some code that makes it so that when an npc dies while time is frozen, their ragdoll will freeze in the air. If you want that to happen to players too, get this addon!

Physical Bullets
If you want to be able to stop bullets in mid-air, you'll need to get an addon to make them physical. They only work for scripted weapons, though, so you might want to go find a weapon pack to go with it! If you fire while time has been stopped, you'll need to no-clip to be able to move, though, because your bullet will get stuck inside of you.

If you want a map to fool around with your new time-stopping powers, try this one! It has a few destructible buildings and an entire bridge that can collapse! They even included a button you can use to reset the bridge in case you want to destroy it again and again and again. ^^;

Directional Gravity
Control which direction gravity pushes objects in! Remember not to use it on maps with tons of physical objects, though, or you might cause huge lag or crashing issues!

Freeze Mod [NO FX]
If you must have a weapon that stops time now, this one works fine when combined with mine. If you don't like my addon's sounds or visual effects, you might want to just use it instead of mine until I get around to adding a setting to mine to disable them.
