C16 Warbird (Fastback)

Description
Inspired by the 1970 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, this car was designed to be fun, sporty, fast, and functional at the same time!

Update: Because the compact custom cooling system was broken by the v1.1.3 update, and because they sound cooler, I have replaced the engine with a modular engine and traditional radiator.

Convertible Version: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2380748148

Features
  • Top speed: 136 MPH (219 KM/H)
  • Gyro-stabilized steering system
  • 5-Speed automatic T-III transmission
  • Cruise control
  • Full lighting system
  • Seating for 4
  • Folding passenger seat
  • Heater
  • Fire extinguisher, welding torch, med kit, transponder, flare, and 2 flashlight chargers included
  • Imperial or Metric units

Controls / Tips

To start, get into the drivers seat, turn the ignition key, and use the Up / Down arrow buttons to select Park, Reverse, Neutral, or Drive.
  • Up / Down: Gear
  • Left / Right: Turn signals
  • Button 1: Lighting mode
  • Button 2: Cabin lights
  • Button 3: Cruise control toggle (hitting the brakes will also turn it off)
  • Button 4: Launch control
  • Button 6: RWD mode (for burnouts and drifting)

- Using cruise control to stay around 40-70 MPH (64-112 KM/H) will make driving on the rough Stormworks roads easy and smooth, and give you very good gas mileage for a muscle car.

Also available with a 4-speed manual transmission and black paint:

Oh totally, please do! Reverse-engineering is one of the best ways to learn, I'd hate to get in the way of that.

The car's body design can vary a lot with little effect in this game, the real magic is usually largely on the inside. I use a mixture of well-placed weight blocks and small fins on the underside to get performance where I want. Learning that and how to make a good transmission will be the biggest steps in my opinion. Also, you might want to take a peek at the cooling system, as it's far better than a radiator and pretty compact.

Out of curiosity, would be angry if I tried recreating this solely form the pics as a way to test myself? I won't upload it or anything, I just want to see if I can fill in the blanks on how it works. I'm still new to this game and I've found that reverse engineering design to learn the concepts is the best way for me to learn.
