Description
Designed and built by Spiff's Practical Engineered Solutions for the Weyland-Yutani Corporation without the use of DLC or mods, the WY-110 Thrush is a highly optimized large-grid survival ship with features that far exceed most starter ships, including:
· Advanced refinery with all four slots open for upgrade modules
· Advanced assembler with all four slots open for upgrade modules
· Three small cargo containers
· Two batteries for primary power
· Two hydrogen engines for backup power and battery recharging
· Two O2/H2 generators for life support, and fuel for the hydrogen engines and hydrogen thrusters
· Six primary hydrogen thrusters, one in each direction
· Four secondary hydrogen thrusters, forward/backward and up/down, for added acceleration and maneuverability
· Ore detector
· Survival kit
· Cryo chamber

BATTERY RECHARGE NOTE
Be sure to turn on the hydrogen engines before setting the batteries to recharge mode. If hostiles are nearby, I suggest hiding inside an asteroid while recharging; your ship's thrusters will not work when the batteries are in recharge mode.

SHIP STATISTICS
· Blocks = 37
· PCU = 1,394
· L x W x H (meters) = 27½ × 15 × 7½
· Empty mass = 98 tons

The WY-110 Thrush is easily projector buildable in survival mode; the grid pivot is the spotlight.

PARTS LIST FOR CONSTRUCTION
· Steel plate = 3,530
· Metal grids = 492
· Interior plates = 180
· Construction components = 1,270
· Motors = 112
· Large steel tube = 158
· Small steel tube = 100
· Computers = 429
· Displays = 30
· Bulletproof glass = 74
· Power cells = 162
· Detector components = 20
· Medical components = 6

FINAL THOUGHTS
I was greatly intrigued and inspired by Lystent's recently published ship Phlare Tag Normal as a relatively compact large-grid survival ship.

I wondered if I could take that concept and change a few features to make it a bit more capable. For efficiency, I eschewed the walkaround interior for a simple cockpit. I also abandoned any gas storage, instead utilizing two O2/H2 generators for life support and fuel production. We both have a survival kit, a cryo chamber, an ore detector, etc., so in that regard our ships are similar. My main focus, however, was to make both the advanced refinery and advanced assembler capable of being outfitted with a full set of upgrade modules. I also swapped the inefficient solar panels in favor of two hydrogen engines to recharge the two batteries since ice is relatively plentiful in space. I almost didn't include the two drills, figuring someone could add them, but pragmatism won out as I figured anyone who had the capability to build this ship in survival mode could also build the drills; they are highly useful for both gathering ore/ice and for their added storage space. All-in-all, this ship was an experiment in design optimization and simplicity, utilizing only four armor blocks to anchor the two batteries; everything else is a functional block which results in minimum size and PCUs.

Actually works really well as an "accelerated spawn ship".

Nope. That's out of my skillset.

Have you ever streamed on YouTube or Twitch?

You are correct. It's a rather cheap build that does a lot. Not pretty, but functional.

Perfect for the hostile environment I am in... Get in, mine, get out, and if it goes boom, well it goes boom.
