Description
Deep Ore add-on module for the Industrial Overhaul

Ore depths range between 100 to 1200 meters, depending on rarity. Ore vein thickness has also been increased to approximately 50m for all ore types.

Approximate Depths:

Iron, Nickel, Copper, and Silicon: 100-150m

Bauxite: 250-300m

Coal: 300m

Cobalt, Silver, Niter, and Oil Sand: 400-750m

Gold, Lithium, and Titanium: 700-1000m

Platinum, Uranium, and Tantalum: 900-1200m

To compensate for increased ore depth, ranges on all Detectors have been doubled compared to standard IO ranges.


Load this module ABOVE the main mod in the mod menu

Do not use with any other ore-spawn-modifying module.

it seems like it doesnt work sadly, ores still spawn on the ground :(

It is not possible. However there are other stand alone mods for deep ores. For example: Deep Ores.

Has anyone ever tried to, or does anyone know if it is possible to use this mod without the main mod? I kinda like having ores much deeperbut I am not really (just yet) interested in new ores and a completely overhauled crafting recipe chain.

@mazrados it can be annoying but I found it fairly easily in the desert (flew up and looked for patches and then investigated. A large grid rover helped a lot (large metal detector I believe can reach)

@brando it spawns as a thin layer under grass (useful since hydrogen power is a big deal at least for me early)

is it normal for ice to spawn everywhere?

I think that oil sand should be no deeper then metal detector range.
It's required for too basic components and can't progress without it.

The only hope is to find advanced computers for ores detector in trade stations. It may take a realy long time.

Is metal detector able to detect anything? Because I drive since about 20 hours and didn't find anything except useless surface ores. I am on Earth.

This mod adds just what the game needs. Just needs a bunch more refinement
