[UES] Combat Drone

Description
lightweight dogfighter.

Now from your friends at the United Engineers of Space [UES] we proudly present the [UES] Combat Drone. This ship is small, powerful, and very lightweight. It is designed as a short ranged interceptor craft which is designed to dock with and defend a larger ship or station from attack by small fighters or bombers. This ship is very small which makes it hard to target. It is also very fast and super-maneuverable which makes it very hard to target and even harder to hit. In the hands of an expert pilot, this ship will outfly the guns of most of its opponents. In other words you can buzz your opponent and avoid his gun fire and pick of his vulnerable areas before he can even line up a single shot on you. In 1 month of testing this ship has only been defeated a handful of times with a 10:1 win/loss ratio (your results may depend on the skill and quality of your pilot).

6956 kg (as shown here)
1 MW reactor capacity
16 thrusters
4 gyros

It is made up of the following components:

1 Cockpit
4 gyros
10 Small reactors
1 large thruster (small ship)
15 small thrusters (small ship)
2 gattling cannons
2 rocket launchers

While this ship isnt attactive to look at it is heavenly to fly. It is the perfect balance between acceleration, turning, and nimbleness. I have spent entire gaming sessions with the camera in third person view watching the bullets coming and flying out of the way before they can connect. Effective startegies include:

1. flying circles around a larger, slower armorer target and pick off its vulnerabilities before it can line up a shot on you.

2. Using jerky leaps forward and slightly diagonally at 30-45 degree angles off of centerline, you can move out of the way before your opponent can aim at your ship. Using this strategy you can get close enough to your opponents ship and line up a firing solution before they can get a solid aim on your ship.

3. Uisng the ships small size you can fly your ship through tight places and even into asteroid tunnels at high speed with an opponent in pursuit. You can then circle around behind your opponent when they crash or get stuck and line up a firing solution.

I have personally used all 3 of these strategies to great effect.

Other features include the fact that this ship is very small and lightly armed so it will function in a multiplayer environment without unduly lagging the server, making the game more enjoyable for everyone.
