Butch Reed

Butch Reed got his start wrestling in NWA territories as "Hacksaw" Butch Reed and became a star in Mid-South Wrestling in the 80's.

In Mid-South, he feuded with Jim Duggan over the "Hacksaw" name, then turned heel by attacking his former partner, Junkyard Dog.

He quickly won the Mid-South North American Heavyweight title after his heel turn, and he went on to capture the title two more times in addition to Mid-South's Television title and their Tag Team Championship.

In 1986, Reed signed with the WWE and dyed his hair blonde, becoming "The Natural" Butch Reed. He feuded with the likes of Tito Santana, Ricky Steamboat, and Don Muraco in the WWF before leaving for JCP in 1988.

Reed wrestled for JCP and WCW for next several years, notably forming Doom with Ron Simmons and capturing the WCW World Tag Team titles.
