Movators - Go Places

Description
Movators are bunker systems designed to solve all your movement woes - no more waiting for slow ai or despairing at how stupidly all your units move; just place Movators everywhere and marvel at the speed and efficiency.

Features:
  • Manual controls to let Joe Rambo fly around and shoot things
  • Automatic pathfinding so those silly clones will actually get where you want them to - this includes multiple waypoints, actor following, or squads
  • An informative UI that tells you what's going on with your Movators
  • A whole bunch of customisable settings with the magic of Pie buttons
  • Fancy effects to show you connected movators and make your screen all colourful. These effects can be changed and even customised, so you can put in anything you want.
  • And much more! Probably.

How To Setup a Movator Network:
  • When making a bunker, save a few hundred gold for a Movator Control Room and Movators. You need 1 control room (300 gold) or your Movators won't work. Each Movator costs 25 gold, but you can refund it at any time with the Movator Remover if you put it in the wrong spot.
  • Note that the controller in the control room counts as a brain (so enemies will try to destroy it), so make sure it has line of sight to the surface!
  • Now that you have your control room, simply place Movator Zone Nodes wherever you want to go. They have to connect either vertically or horizontally, and can't be too close to each other (don't worry, if they are you'll get a refund) but outside of that you're free to do what you want. Only the Movator Controller can be destroyed, so don't worry about placing them in the line of fire.
  • Keep in mind that Movators need to be able to see each other to connect. They've got a bit of leeway (so ladders, for example, won't block them) but some creativity may still be required for things like stairs. If you put one somewhere you don't want, you can always refund it by using the Movator Remover.

How To Use:
  • If you're controlling an actor, just move like you normally would - you'll get sped along by the Movators if you're in the area. To stop, hold the open the Pie Menu and press up. If you open the Pie Menu and press down, you'll be removed from the Movator network (though if you're still inside it and move again, you'll be right back in it).
  • Movators really shine when it comes to AI movement - if you set a waypoint for an unit that's in your Movator Network, it'll hurry over there. If that waypoint is inside the Movator Network, it'll stop there and wait for more orders, otherwise they network will look for the closest Movator to eject the unit out of. Multiple waypoints are supported and even suggested, and squad mode works too.

Pro Tips:
  • If you want to move a unit a long way outside of the Movator Network, it's advisable to set multiple waypoints, since the ejection simply looks for the closest Movator that can see the first one. Put your first waypoint where you're going to be exiting the network, and your future ones wherever you want the unit to go once it's out.
  • If you're making Movators and are short on cash, you can get some money back by refunding the Movators in your Movator Control Room.
  • Movators slow down any actors (that fit their requirements) passing through them, so you can use them as a cushion for hard landings or high altitude drops.
  • Movators don't just affect mobile actors - things like turrets can be moved into positions they wouldn't normally be able to get to, giving you different firing angles or a chance to set up good defences.
  • Make sure you keep your Movator Controller alive. Without it your Movators will stop working completely.

Sorry, I put this up to test out the beta workshop uploading so the description's pretty useless. I'll fix it up and put out some proper pics later but basically it's a method of getting around that's way better than walking. It's the base.rte elevators made useful.

For the time being, you can find more about it here [forums.datarealms.com].

Yeah, I removed it haha. Somehow I accidentally made two of them and I happened to check and notice shortly after you'd posted. Thanks for the heads up though.

Welp it's gone now, either you removed it or it was just a display glitch. In any case it's totally cool.
