I also do an easy variant where you can simply fly over the mushrooms and the route and weather design are slightly different. Actually, I have almost finished the easy version, but I will probably wait a little longer with the release. "In addition," I have two more levels that I tinker with.
If the mushrooms would rotate the same direction always, I think this would be a good wings only level. Its fast and flows well (once you route it), both of which are somewhat surprising qualities for wings only. Especially considering the moving geometry; its somewhat surprising that can be made to work well with wings only.
The mushroom section is much harder than the rest of the level though. There are not many levels to get players used to having wings as the only ability, so it will take a very long time for most people to understand how to complete that section.
In short, what I am saying is that the mushroom section is a big difficulty spike.
Overall I think it's fun and looks pretty cool. Might too hard for most.
