The Dark Cloud is designed for base cleaning when deep in enemy territory.
It almost feels like cheating as it takes most of the danger out of farming components from ground bases.

Tier 4 CV

Operations Manual
1.) Fuel Up
2.) Fill with 30mm Bullets (can hold a LOT)
3.) Hover over enemy base.
4.) Profit

It really does take the guess work out of cleaning an enemy presence off of a planet.
If you hover at the right height, the enemies often don't even spawn in the base before the generators/core go down.
