Description
Steve Austin was fired from WCW in 1995 while injured, and he quickly began appearing in ECW, initially to do in-ring interviews while recovering.

Austin began to show more of an edge with his character in ECW, a preview of what he would go on to become in the WWF.

Austin had only a few matches in ECW, taking on The Sandman and then-ECW World Heavyweight Champion Mikey Whipwreck before signing with the WWF.
