Helios Mini-Store

Description
The Helios has really nice modular bays but there are 4 sections in between the modules that are left unutilized and are probably too narrrow to fly most SVs into. Also most modules seem to have everything and the kitchen sink thrown in them. I needed simple things like good storage, but without any frill or add ons. To solve this I created mini modules for the Helios that fit between the larger side modules.

The first one is the Mini-Store which is essentially 6 320k storage compartments with a wifi connector. That's it, just some easy storage thats cheap to produce and you can leave attached long term. In fact it is assume this is a set and never move sort of module. You could turn off the power entirely and just use the wifi to connect.

SETUP
* The bays will need slight nodifications to acceopt the module. First you will want to mark the block above the entrance with a cross or some mark that makes it easy to target the londing. The module has a hologram and the aiming reticle to make attachment easy.
* Second you will want to remove the cross member that is on the outside of the frame (see pics)
* Once this is done simply line up the aiming reticle and hologram with the LCD holigram on the Helios and cross you painted above the entrance.
* Slowly approach and adjust accordingly. Just before docking it is a good idea to push the up key (spoace for most users) and then come back down a hailr (C for most users) and then dock.
* Once docked the headlights and flight strobes will turn off and the fron tdecorative lights will come on. You will need to enable the docking mode near the exit to turn off the engines and spare generator (it's only there for flying the module to the dock).
* You will notice right away that the receptacle in the Helios is too big for the module. This can be easily fixed by attaching three half blocks to each side of the parked module (see pics). As long as you are aiming at the the module the block will attach correctly.

NOTE: if you wish to move the module please remove the six blocks before trying to back out. It gets ugly if you don't!

UPDATE: Made it so the cargo boxes can be accessed from the front of the vehicle, which means they can be accessed from inside the Helios directly. Thanks to Myrmidon for that idea. Also thanks to Allessia whose LCDs I "borrowed."

I have cretaed a Reforged Eden version with Solar Panels as well: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2423162664

Updated. The little lights inside were illegal.

Very cool! I just added it to the Helios Module collection. Awesome work!

I have not tested it with any weight as I never intended it to be a drop ship, but a permanent cargo hold. Also I saw your version with the boxes accessible from within the Helios and liked the idea a lot and am redesigning the front to allow the boxes to be seen from the front.

I forgot to ask you what was the highest g of the test you performed.

@Myrmidon I think you will want to add a few thrusters to the bottom then, it wasn't really designed as a lander. Luckily there is empty space in between the storage units which can easily accommodate a row of them.

Thumbs up. I will use one of those for landing on planets. and loading those extra heavy water contianers. I usualy colect water from 50x water generatorsm when I ned to create fusion cells for those long deep space trips.
