Description
Turn any road into a monorail road with this set of rail-over-road monorail tracks.

Features
  • Designed for use with Vanilla+ Roads, but will work with any other road.
  • Can be placed off-road, over footpaths, railway tracks etc.
  • Can be raised and stacked one on top of another.
  • No mods required (but see Quirks and err... more features below).
  • 100% vanilla style

Quirks and err... more features
  • If placed over a road, the standard Mass Transit monorail track will not connect to these tracks, as the central pillar collides with the road. To connect them, build a short segment off road (see screenshots).
  • If placed over a road, the tracks will not connect to roads with built-in monorail tracks, nor with on-road monorail stations, as this creates a junction with two roads at a 0° angle. You can use Fine Road Anarchy or a similar mod to work around this.
  • Pillars are collision-free, meaning you can place these tracks however you like. But, it also means these pillars may end up in the middle of a road junction. To avoid this:
    • When building straight segments, ensure monorail track nodes are not over road junctions (see screenshots).
    • When building monorail junctions, do build them on top of road junctions (pillars will disappear when 3 or more monorail tracks are connected.)
  • The pillars are props, meaning they become invisible when zooming out very far (just like they do on Mass Transit monorail roads). If you find this to be an issue, there are mods that fix it: Adaptive Prop Visibility Distance or Ultimate Level Of Details.

Could you please add station track versions to the asset? I think this is an easy job. I’ve not used the asset editors yet but I’ll try it myself for a personal asset (SC update pending).

If there was a station track available, then any trackless station assets could be used. Or at least creators could make up stations with the over road tracks. I’ve seen comments that using station track in-game causes problems.

Does anybody have any problems placing bus stops on roads that you've placed these tracks over?

A suggestion: make it so these roads don't interrupt zoning so it's a lot easier to place them over roads without losing zoning.

@Delta 5-1 - Hey i am having an issue with zoning + cant upgrade a road as it select the track instead of the road. (32u).

Having serious trouble with this mod... I'm using the 32m rails over 4u roads, but it keeps removing zoning, no matter how much I adjust things with Move It! or such. The rails also just don't snap to roads, so it's a massive pain to place them, especially over curved roads.
