Description
!!! Read head of code in the marked LUA box for installation instructions !!!


This craft is all about a LUA box which will make your live a hell of a lot easier. The LUA code will controll all of your propulsion blocks, so you dont have to configure them in terms of roll left/right ; forward/backward ; strafe ; hover ... and so on.
They all have the same setting. Just put them down whereever you want, or even make them rotate, because the system updates the orientation and location of all components. This means that a shift of the center of mass is also taken into account, which allows additional backup possibilities.

it seems that jest engines are using only up to 20% of their max thrust, i have to exclude most engines on heavier crafts

This is a great and easy to set up on your craft!!

The thrusters are controlled by scaling the "max-power-output". The efficiency scales with that setting. This causes high efficiency at low loads. Adding more thrusters makes your craft more redundant AND more efficient !

VAM_Pyre, 1. I am so happy someone is enjoing my creation! Thank you very much! 2. I expect this code to work as long as they do not remove thrusters or LUA boxes from the game. 3. It would be possible implement non AI PID... I will give it a few days and then try to code what I came up with.

In some of my craft I control Altitude, Pitch and Roll with General Purpose PIDs in order to stop my craft just by setting the AI off, without losing hover capabilities.
Do you think that it's possible to implement such a function? Or am I missing something here?

Thanks for the reply. I've been testing your creation (A LOT) :D
It's simply awesome!!! I'm afraid I am literally hooked to it.

I believe I know how to use it properly now. Used it in my bombers and dogfighters, so far it really boosted the craft flying capabilities, AND, much more efficient. Correct me if I'm wrong, by balancing the thrust "as a whole" seems to take a lot of unnecessary load from the engines, making a very efficient use of fuel (?) - In one word sir: Brilliant!
To add to that, it makes life so much easier not to have to think so carefully where to place thrusters, and specially not having to tweak the thrust settings. Resetting a drive to 1 is nothing compared to the art of tweaking a propulsion system, never mind the "Auto-setting" i suggested earlier, I was being too lazy :D

I just hope this mod keeps working regardless of game patches because i intend to use it in all my thrustercraft.

VAM_Pyre, sadly there is no way to reset all thrusters. I could add a line which will set the resting drive to 1, but thats it.
