APS and CRAM Barrel Variants

Description
New barrel and mantlet variants for APS and CRAM cannons.

This mod provides many more options for APS and CRAM cannons, mainly it provides some more realistic looking/semi-historical options. There are also some APS variants that have special properties. A variety of new APS mantlets are provided, primarily versions with blast bag canvas covers added for decoration. Note that most of the blast bag models are very vertex-heavy, meaning they could create some performance issues on slower PCs.

Update 1/18/25 - Updated to run on version 4.2.3.0.

Made some basic adjustments to EMP resistance, fire resistance and flammability. Most pieces have been set to vanilla Cram barrel settings for now, barrels in this mod should no longer burn away!

Update 12/24/24 - Updated to run on version 4.2.1.1

Update 7/11/21 - Added a few new parts and made some mesh updates.
All APS Rifled barrels now have the rifling modeled in the interior
Added 1-4m squeeze bore barrel variants
The 3m "ball" mantlet is now available in 1-4m slope versions
Updated the texturing on the railgun "cooler" style magnets to look a little less stripey

Update 5/28/21 - made major changes to the APS barrel stats. All of the cooling modifiers were removed, due to them not working properly. To compensate in the name of some sort of balance, other stats have been adjusted. Rifled barrels got a slight accuracy buff to better seperate them from the fluted barrels, and the materials cost has been increased by 1.75x over standard. Fluted barrels have had the cooling boost removed, but are otherwise unchanged. Squeeze bores are also now neutral on cooling, and had their acuracy nerf increased.

The cram barrel parts have been re-meshed to make them look less "stripey"

Two new APS muzzle brakes no.7 and 8 have been added

Update 4/7/21 - Added 1M blast bag elevation mantlet, box-style tank mantlet, 2m bore evacuator. Fixed all meshes related to fluted barrels. Made the railgun "cooler" magnet set appear hollow to match barrels.

New update 4/4/21 - new parts added, and rifled and fluted barrels moved to their own menus, along with standard-weight versions of those barrels

What's included
for APS:
Smooth-textured barrels that are hollow
2 new bore evacuator models
Rifled barrels that increase accuracy at the expense of barrel cooldown
Fluted barrels - these provide slight accuracy and cooling gains, at the expense of health
Squeeze bore barrels - these greatly increase shell speed with small accuracy and cooldown and large recoil penalties.
Long tapered heavy to standard transitions for all types in 1-8M lengths
4 new styles of railgun rails, "ring", "box", "vented box", and "cooler"
6 new styles of APS muzzle brakes

blast bag variants of 1m and 3m omni, 1m and 3m elevation, and 2m AA (two versions)
A new 5x3x2m "gun slit" mantlet, limited elevation and high health, this comes in standard, metal, alloy, and HA versions, all with a normal and a blast bag version.
3m "ball" mantlet set in 45° Slope
3m railgun elevation mantlet, meant to hide the magnet bases of railguns when placed
3x3m blast bag mantlets made to blend in with a face of 3m slopes, in metal, alloy, and heavy armor textures
5 new styles of "tank" mantlet, "flat plate", "conical", "wedge", "box", and WWII german "saukopf" style

for CRAM:

Smoother-looking standard barrel segments that are hollow
Standard barrel segments with decorative rifling added in
New elevation and motor driven barrel models
A "hidden" motor driven variant that looks like the new heavy barrel model
A "blast bag" barrel that can be added 1-2 segments ahead of the firing piece to add a blast bag decoration
Tapered heavy-to-standard transition pieces from 1-8m length
A new flash hider barrel end
A "sharp" heavy-to standard transition piece

TO INSTALL:
1. From the main starting menu, hit the "content" tab at the top.
2. In the "mods" section of that menu, hit the "download" button. A list of subscribed mods should appear there.
3. Click the button for APS and CRAM Barrel Variants, and a new window should appear.
4. Scroll to the bottom of that window, and hit the "save mod in (new) folder APS and CRAM Barrel Variants" button.
5. You will likely need to restart the game, and then the new menu tab with the barrels should show up in build mode.

Mod hasn't been working for me for some time, as both the section in the build menu and the blocks themselves aren't there. Tried everything I can.
Love the rifled barrels for the accuracy boost, although the fluted would be plenty if they didn't have reduced health.

Seems like something you should ask about on FtD's discord server

Sounds like you messed up, since this mod doesn't touch the AI
TAOKAKA 3 Jan @ 10:49am
it seems that the mod just removes the ai.
i don't have any movement, and when i go to manoeuvre in the ai, it just says empty.
