Description
This wasn't always an island. A hundred years ago there was a city on a riverbank here, full of thousands and thousands of people...until the impact; the rain of debris from the massive crater ring that was thrust almost instantly skyward, the hundreds of aftershock earthquakes and floods... ...The Disasters...wiped them all away. The globe was covered in darkness for seven years after that fateful day.

Now, a century later, and a different time, indeed....some vegetation has returned to the impact zone on the seaward side. Speaking of the sea - so much aquatic life was obliterated by the toxic fallout that we thought that ecosystem might never recover, but we've recently noticed a boom in anchovy fish population. Feel free to catch and eat whatever you'd like, as it seems the waters are teeming with this species now.

There's barely anything left for humanity here, but the Authority has ordered us to return and use whatever scraps we can find to rebuild... ...all to extract the precious resources from the toxic bed of the impact crater.

They say there are no ghosts here....that the sea swallowed them long, long ago when it rose in unstoppable force to erase everything in its path. Still...I know this place is haunted. I can feel it in my bones.

This map is meant for play as a "ruined city" build for a dystopian grungepunk future. Imagine it like a penal mining colony where some have secure, modern hover transport and others are rolling around in relic, bio-diesel powered automobiles like troglodytes.

Anyhow, as more assets are added to the Workshop that fit the wrecked and ruined aesthetic look for this Collection and District Style to evolve.

I have a constant pop-up that the outside connection is broken (can't see the place, but the arrow leads to the map border) and export is not working as well. What may be the problem? :lunar2020horrifiedrat:

Would be nice to find all dependencies in a single place. just saying.

After the impact the sea was displaced so quickly and violently that it came back with a vengeance - overwhelming the entire area and covering it in hundreds of feet of water for a very long time. When it eventually drained there was a lot of new material deposited and the impact area was vastly changed from its earlier form by the action of so much water and silt.

its looks more like a caldera then an impact crater.
