Chevrolet Niva ( Rus . Chevrolet Niva) is a serial Russian off- road passenger car manufactured by GM-AvtoVAZ . It has a permanent four-wheel drive four-wheel drive, two-stage transfer case and locking center differential lock .

The release of the model was launched in 2002 and since that time it has only been restyled once by the Italian design studio Bertone ; the release of the new generation was planned for 2016 [1] , but in March 2015 work on the project was suspended. [2]

Unlike other Chevrolet models assembled in Russia and localized by less than 30%, only the Chevrolet Niva is truly domestic with a degree of localization of about 90%. [3]
