Islas del Sol

Description
Welcome to Islas del Sol! (or the Islands of Sunshine)

This is an island map inspired by the Caribbean and some islands in the Pacific as well. This is a hilly map with areas flattened out for various cities and towns to sit. Here you will find luscious forests, white sand beaches, clear and stunning blue waters, and the inspiration for your next city build! (Hopefully)

This map has no true outside road and train connection. There are built in passenger and cargo harbors that accomplish this task without the need for a huge bridge stretching off into the distance. There are also some services preloaded into the map, such as sewage, garbage, windmills, and a water pumping station that allow the harbors to run. These services produce extra resources that you will be able to use to start your city. Because the harbors and services are built into the map, they will cost you nothing to operate!

You will find every resource on this map. There are plenty of fertile lands, along with oil and ore on the islands themselves. You will also find very large oil and ore reserves off the coast!

This is a temperate map, and I’m recommending the Starburg Theme and LUT by Ronyx69 which I will link to the left. To get this coloring I had the Daylight Classic mod turned off, or just not installed. You will also need the 81 Tiles mod if you wish to reach every corner of the islands, or at least a 25 Tile mod to play this map well. I recommend using the Electric Roads mod, or any mod that solves the need for power lines, to connect all the services up to the harbors and your city. If not, you can always draw out some power lines yourself, most of the buildings are in the start square! Electric Roads Mod I'm using 3/26/2021: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1689984220

Some DLCs are required as well, but to different degrees. Specifically Mass Transit, After Dark, and Sunset Harbor. If you don’t have Mass Transit some roads will disappear. No After Dark and the cargo hub will disappear. No Sunset Harbor and the sewage treatment plant will disappear.

I've created a one-click collection to easily get all the trees and theme/LUT required for the map. You can find it here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/workshop/filedetails/?id=2435862116

I haven't included 81 tiles, or the Electric Roads mod in the collection as I'm guessing many people already have those mods or something similar.

To create this map I started with a map from the workshop called The Gray Sea by Grisly Shelf! https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=655341583&searchtext=the+gray+sea You will recognize a lot of the coastline from this map. I’ve re-terraformed every mountain and created some more islands out of the Southern landmass in the original map. I’ve also combined some islands to create more building space, re-treed, and redone the shipping routes to better suit an island build in 2021.

If you like this map please Subscribe and hit Like! This is my first item I’ve put on the Workshop and I’m excited to have people try it out. I hope the palm trees and stunning vistas inspire you to build the city of your dreams!

@miguelgarfer09 please do! You will only need to replace the sewage treatment plant, and the cargo harbor when you are ready. The map doesn't need a cargo harbor to function, regular industry will work just fine :)
